Two teens wounded in south Seattle shooting

SEATTLE -- Two teenagers were injured Tuesday evening in a South Seattle shooting.
Police say the double shooting occurred just before 7 p.m. near Rainier Avenue South and South Hanford Street.
Officers were at the scene investigating a car crash when they heard gunshots. They searched the area and found a 19-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds.
Deputy police chief Nick Metz said the two teens were in car when someone in another car opened fire on them. After the shooting, Metz said the victims went off the road and nearly crashed into a nearby car wash.
According to the Seattle Fire Department, the woman was shot in the head and arm. The man was shot in the arm and leg.
Both victims were taken to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition. Medics say both were alert and oriented following the shooting.
Police say the shooter is still on the loose and the investigation is ongoing. Police do not think the original car crash has anything to do with the shooting.

Welcome to the wild wild west...
was eating in the vietnamese place right next door. Heard the gunshots right outside the window. Ran over and helped the two victims. Mostly superficial wounds including the grazed headshot. They are very lucky. The accident was crazy also a car overturned on rainier. Just mayhem down there..Â
The sad part is I had my back turned when I had originally heard this story and I already knew what type of story it would be. I used to live in that area and that car wash was the closest to me but everytime I attempted to go it was full. There were drug deals going on right inside the car wash and I felt like I was in a scene from a rap video. It's always sad when someone gets hurt BUT if you choose to associate with gang bangers and live that lifestyle there is not much else I can say...Â
Wait a minute, shot in the arm and in the HEAD and walking around "alert and oriented"?!?
Â
They ARE zombies! Maybe this is all just one big Halloween hoax.
@FrankenBike Most likely it would have been a glancing hit to the head, not a penetrative hit.
 @SilverGryphon  @FrankenBike that's what it was
"Police say the shooter is still on the loose and the investigation is ongoing."
Â
Wow... how scary! Maybe we should all be on the lookout for... someone.... someone in a vehicle... someone in a vehicle of some sort... with a gun. Yeah, that's a good description of a dangerous gun-wielding bullet-spraying menace to society! That'll help catch this... somebody!
Todays daily South Seattle / Rainier Ave. shootings........ to save time Komo, you could just use the same story every day, just change the names.
 @DrAmerika Same can be said for the Seattle police.  Just change the names of who lies on reports, trumps up false charges, abuses citizens rights and  stomps on handcuffed detainees heads daily.  Â
Â
Â
 @Andrew Bush  @DrAmerika Andrew? Your cop hatred is really getting to the point of delusional. There ARE good cops out there. I personally KNOW a few. (and no, they're NOT thinking about raiding your apartment and stealing your tin foil helmet and roach clip collection) Seriously man, get real. You sound like a fool with your anti cop hatred and rhetoric.
 @Andrew Bush  @Wolfen I've always liked your posts, though you tend to derail every thread with this subject. When you're on topic, you're spot on in a lot of cases. But you can keep on doing your thing and it won't bother me. Sometimes I do skip ahead because I don't want to divide my own attentions between two topics, but I usually end up reading yours later.
 @Andrew Bush  @Komo Dragon Andrew, I can't believe it, you made me LOL!
Â
 @Komo Dragon I don't believe you  : )
 @Andrew Bush  @Wolfen OK, I surrender.
 @Wolfen Absolutely not.  Every single officer in Seattle KNEW they were not being held accountablt and watched as the citizens were sued over and over and over again. Â
Â
As long as EVERY SINGLE SEATTLE Â COP kept their mouths shut they wouldnt be held accountable. Â This has gone on for YEARS while we all paid MILLIONS directly to the OPA. Â
Â
Every single Seattle cop knew all along and did absolutely nothing. Â
Â
That is what TOTAL CORRUPTION looks like. Â
Â
 @Andrew Bush  @DrAmerika Andrew, I have read a few very comments from you. Don't ruin your reputation with this broken record. If they did something to you, sue them. You are obviously an intelligent person, so use it productively.Â
 @Andrew Bush  @DrAmerika OK "agenda man" we get it.  Your fed up with the cops and don't trust them.  I am acknowledging your anger, now Give it a rest.
I saw it too on my way home. Crimes happen in every major metropolitan cites, there is no exception in Seattle. I don't understand why people are upset with the police. They are doing the best to protect us, to protect the citiy. I can't imagine what the city would be like without them. For the ones who are so afraid of coming to Seattle, please stay at where you are if that makes you feel more safe. I have lived in south Seattle for over ten years, love its diversity and charm. Will never move away.
 @lovesouthseattle You just created this screen name  to comment on this story.  Â
@Andrew Bush Yes I did, since I don't ever post my comments. It must be easy to point how wrong are others, instead of looking into the cause. I am sure people started to shoot at each other is because they lost respect for the police. I am sure the increase in crimes is due to police corruption. If its so easy to pin point the cause, I guess we don't need the police force in the city. All the crimes would just dispear.
 @DarkParty  @Andrew Bush  @TenTruckmen No but ANDREW uses caps....so he's right on this.Â
 @Andrew Bush  @TenTruckmen You are the only Troll I see Andrew
 @TenTruckmen more trolling
 @Andrew Bush  @lovesouthseattle blah blah blah blah bla bla bla blah
 @lovesouthseattle  Of course we need a police force.  We just need to replace the entire corrupt gang of cops in Seattle.  As I said.  Crime will always rise when police are no longer trusted or respected.  Especially after they have defrauded the citizens out of MILLIONS over the years. Proven abuse of the citizens doesn't help either. Â
Â
Then  King County should be next.  Â
 @lovesouthseattle How do you figure Seattle is a major city ? Compared to what ? Seattle is a high crime small city actually over grown town.  El paso Tx is larger and near crime ridden Mexico and has a lower crime rate.Â
I think @lovesouthseattle meant highly populated. Seattle is on the top 1-10 on the list right?
 @angkor_warrior Actually, not even close to the "top ten". As of April 1st, 2010, Seattle placed number 22 in size among U.S. cities, right between Denver (23) and Boston (21).
@Maynard G Krebbs I didn't figure Seattle to be a major city in the States, or around the world, but last time I checked Seattle was still the largest city in Washington.
 @Andrew Bush I must have activated my translating program by accident because your posts are now reading the same to me.
 @TenTruckmen blah blah blah blahÂ
Â
 @Andrew Bush What I am showing you is what everyone else reads from your posts after you spam comments that are legitimate with the same words.  I am trying to read quality opinions on the subject of a tragedy in south Seattle and all you can do is stand on your soapbox and drool.
 @TenTruckmen troll
 @Andrew Bush  @lovesouthseattle blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
 @lovesouthseattle Â
Â
when NYPD has 34,500 officers and Los Angeles has 10,000 officers, its amazing that Seattle with less than 1,300 are the only ones in the COUNTRY being babysat by a federal judge due to their lawlessness and abuse of the citizens. . Â
wow i saw the crashed vehicles while i was on the bus was thinking about going back and seeing what was happening but glad i did not now. Â
More gang fun in Seattle. That's why I don't go there after Sun down.
Andrew Bush, you are clueless. Leave your mom's basement and step into the real world.
Â
Despite your idiotic rants the police go out everyday and arrest baby rapers, killers, thieves and criminals. Anyone with issues such as yours, regarding the police, have a reason usually associated with criminal or sociopathic  behavior or an uber/liberal pro-crime agenda.
Â
Gangsters and blacks killing each other in S. Seattle don't care and are unaware of any ACLU agenda to tie the hands of the police, nor do they care. Â
 @opout you sound like my elderly neighbor who's been fretting and wringing her poor little hands in front of her never ending 24 hour Fox marathon since 2008 saying that she feared Obama's election because it meant "the Blaaacks " would enslave all white people. The ACLU is there to defend your rights as well as everyone else. Sure, Andrew is very dedicated to this subject, and we all get sucked into his vortex when reading about other topics, but he's got some good points. He's only railing against the SPD, not every cop ever.
gangsters and blacks? wow....
Â
lol
 @opout by tie the hands you mean force the Seattle police to act within our laws as they should?  Â
Â
You keep defending our PROVEN corrupt Seattle police. Â Sounds like a full time job these past ten years they have brought shame on our city. Â Â
Â
Do you even live in Seattle or are you like 95% of our crooked force who drives into Seattle to commit their crimes against the citizens?Â
Â
Â
Â
GSW to the head and alert & oriented ? That's awesome. Lucky her.
Take it to the heaaaad, yeah yeah, don't think about be about it, don't be scared, just take it to the head

Crime will always rise when police are no longer trusted or respected. Â
Â
When it became known that the entire Seattle police department defrauded the tax payers out of accountability trust is gone.
Â
When the citizens became away that the police are now the only police department in the country being babysat by a federal judge respect is gone.Â
Â
Seattle Police corruption..... the gift that keeps on giving......  and now  it is effecting every budget across the board.Â
 @Andrew Bush or when we just dont have enough cops out on our streets!
 @Andrew Bush there we go again ;-)
THANKS FOR WATCHING ANOTHER EXCITING EPISODE OF 'SOUTH SEATTLE 911' !!! STAY TUNED FOR MORE EXCITING EPISODES!!!
@CIAassassin You don't need to shout...
 @Silvia  @CIAassassin it's like when the TV volume goes up for a commercial...
 @Silvia  @CIAassassin They need to shout to be heard over the sounds of gunfire.
