Thurston Co. coroner: Lacey woman's death was homicide

LACEY, Wash. - A woman whose body was found in a Lacey residence on Tuesday died of homicidal means, the Thurston County Coroner's Office said Friday after conducting an autopsy.

Detectives have now launched a homicide investigation into the 61-year-old woman's death.

Lt. Phil Comstock of the Lacey Police Department said officers discovered the woman's body just after noon on Tuesday after receiving a report of an unresponsive person in a home in the 3800 block of 12th Avenue SE.

Medics determined that the woman, later identified as Sheri Peters, 61, was deceased, and an autopsy was conducted on Thursday.
