Traffic delays expected in Seattle area this weekend

SEATTLE -- I-5 repairs and Seattle's gay pride festivities will result in altered traffic patterns this weekend.

The 39th annual Gay Pride Parade begins at 11 a.m. Sunday morning at Fourth Ave. and Union St.

The parade moves up Fourth Ave. and ends at Second Ave. and Denny Ave., near Seattle Center.

It should last about two-and-a-half hours.

Also expect delays on soutbound I-5 through Seattle at night as crews do more pavement repair work.

Up to three lanes of southbound I-5 between Northgate and the Ship Canal Bridge will be closed beginning at 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday night.

The lanes will reopen Sunday morning at 9 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Monday.
