Cops trying to identify 2 killed at Puyallup drug house

PUYALLUP, Wash. - Two heavily armed intruders shot to death Thursday by a Puyallup homeowner still have not yet been identified.
Pierce County sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer says the two were not recognized by deputies. The medical examiner's office is conducting autopsies Friday and checking fingerprints.
The masked intruders were shot dead Thursday morning when they forced their way into a Puyallup home with an illegal marijuana grow operation in the attic. The homeowner told detectives he opened fire at the pair when they broke in.
Troyer said it appears the intruders were after marijuana and possibly cash. He said their bodies were found in the home's six-car garage when deputies arrived at the scene.
Detectives continue to investigate the shootings as well as the marijuana growing operation found in the home.
In the meantime, the 35-year-old homeowner is free while the prosecutor decides whether to file charges.
Troyer says the man's 9-year-old son who was inside at the time of the shootout is with his family.
Ironically, the deadly shootings came on the first day of marijuana legalization in Washington state. While it is now legal for adults 21 or over to possess up to an ounce of marijuana in Washington state, it is still illegal to grow or sell the drug.

These 2 losers were there to hurt or possibly kill them . If they weren't the to kill why bring multiple guns and shoot at the homeowner?? He did what he had to and Im proud he protected his son and himself. They got what was coming to them for shooting at the home owner. It probably wasn't their first and probably not their lat or actually it was their last!!!he saved other people from having to have these guys break into their house and possibly get killed by one of these losers.
To the people that said the family of the deceased dont care can pull your heads out your ass. Because I know the family of the deceased as well as you think you think you can defend a person just because the homeowner growing the amout of pot he was is illigal. I have no problem with a person defending the family but he is a criminal as well.
@IC Sorry for your loss. However, most of us don't have an issue with pot, medicinal or otherwise. I think you'll find most people do have an issue with armed home invaders.
Â
If you ask me who is the criminal between a clandestine farmer and people who take guns to break into occupied residences to commit robbery, I'm going to laugh at you and ignore the rest of what you have to say.
He does have a medical liscense too so screw all you. He saved his family and possibly your next because he took out the trash that we don't need in this world! You should actually thank him for getting rid of people that most likely have done this befoe and would of done it again. So i say way to protect your family and saving others from having to go thru the same because they were ready to kill and if he didn't kill them you could of been next!!!! just thank about that
From the sounds of it, they were pretty well off in that house with a 6 car garage. While possible, no one can say 100% definitively that the intruders were there for the pot. It could have been for jewelry, bigscreen tvs, or cash.Â
Â
People here are angry at dad for growing a bit of pot without the paperwork that comes from going to a "doctor," claiming to have anxiety, nerve damage, trouble sleeping, or eating disorders, and then paying $100 or so.Â
Â
Two armed fools broke into a mans house and got what they had coming. If that man had been a "patient" and the exact same thing occurred, would you people still want your pound of flesh?Â
Â
Are you mad because he had pot or because he defended himself and his family from armed intruders?
A little off topic. Is it just me or does this happen to anyone else? It seems like whenever there is a story about a death, one of the ads that seems to show up each time is for a company that does cremation services.Â
@The WA Mama targeted advertising is the answer.  Try installing Do Not Track Plus on your PC and you will never see another advertisement while browsing again.  It is a wonderful experience to browse the net ad free and not be tracked.
@OttoMobile Thanks for the info. I'll try.
Some of you are "praying for the families of the deceased." Give me a fecking break. Even their own families don't care, or they would know who these guys are after 24+ hours.
@bagsofdirt Well, and if their physical details were released it would certainly be helpful too.
I second that. "bagsofdirt", I hope you're not as heartless as you seem. <3
Sometimes good people do bad things. I pray for everyone involved. I'd rather not judge someone because IÂ read one page of their story. Yea, it's stupid to intrude someone's home, but now two families somewhere have two deaths to cope with. I pray for them.
Â
For the man with a marijuana operation, maybe he, like me has more compassion for mankind and doesn't ever expect anyone would do something so heartless. He does what he can to make his money and that's no one else's business.
Â
Love and compassion for everyone.
One of our local news stations identified the homeowner last night on the news. I forget which one. Now it looks like that has been retracted or something. They were claiming he was a former Sounders player. Â
The identities of the dead men have been confirmed. Stupid #1 and Stupid #2. They got what they deserved. Now, lock up the "dad" that was growing weed illegally with a kid in the house, and give that kid a GOOD home. What is our society coming to?
@Wolfen It sounds like that kid has a good home already with a father willing to protect his family. Weed is just a plant and who knows if that's really what they were after. How do you know it wasn't the bigscreen and the jewelry they came for?
Nothing good comes form growing pot in a residential neighborhood. It puts the grower/homeowner/renter/ small children and neighbors in danger.
I'm thinking they are named Harry Dunne and Lloyd Christmas. Â
Well a couple of things that are certain theres two dead intruders a traumatized nine year old a illegal marijuana growing operation shutdown and a homeowner facing possible charges, another than that smokem if you gottem...
An illegal mj grow with a 9 year old living there? Â Umm... seems to me there are some charges right there. Â How stupid can people be? Â Don't drag children into your drug lifestyle. Â You associate with the drug trade, you bring everyone associated with you into it automatically. Â Look at the type of people and near-miss you brought onto your 9 year old child. Â I think everyone that does illegal drugs, or has illegal business associated with it, should look around the room on a Saturday night and ask yourself if you'd like those people in your mother's living room, or your child's bedroom. Â Because the minute you pick up the crack pipe, or choose to deal illegally, you are putting out an invitation for those people to become part of your family's lives. Â Think about it. Â You do meth? Your family is now connected to everyone you buy meth from, or do meth with. Â Â Thank god the kid wasn't killed, but I'm sure that he was traumatized.Â
Â
And the lesson to criminals. Â Is that how you want your time here on earth to end? Â Lying in a morgue unidentified. No one has reported you missing. No one knows you're dead. Â That is what you did with your life? For what? Money? Drugs? Â That should be a warning to everyone who even thinks about getting involved in drugs or crime. Â But it won't be. Idiots will still start doing meth with their friends, and still do home invasions for drugs and money. Â Just pathetic.Â
The public might be able to help if they released some info about the. Race, tats etc.
@Klondiko Exactly what I was wondering as well. How about some accurate drawings and detailed descriptions of these two? Also, the story keeps referring to them as both "heavily armed".... but again, no details. How much and what kinds of ordnance were they packing to qualify them as being
"heavily armed"? This story is very niggardly on many details for some reason.
It's not illegal to grow your own as long as it is Medical.
@F4I The police know the difference.  The rules for medical are quite clear.  And illegal grow is an illegal grow.  Big difference.Â
@DT  @F4I you can be slandered by the police who never said anything and can't claim it's illegal until proven in a court of law. Further Lindquist is saying that is THIEVES comes to your home to steal then we have the right to protect ourselves by SHOOTING DEAD the intruders. For the police & Media to hide the identity and continue to say heavily armed, YOU DONT KNOW WHO THESE PLANTS ARE BUT INTELLIGENCE DOES - on the day when MARIJUANA is LEGAL. C'MON it was a set up. You can't get any information can you? THINK ABOUT IT?
Maybe WalGreens, Rite Aid, and the big drug companies, like the ones who make narcotic pain killers, etc. can cash in on this marijuana deal, go to your Doctor, convence him/her you have a medical reason to use it, get a perscription, take it to the pharmacy and get it filled.
@F4I But first you must pay the doctor off and next pay the state off etc.! In reality though you can tell them to bugger off and handle your own... There's zero reason to be extorted like this for a natural medicine.....
@Funky-Munky  @F4I You don't actually have to have a doctors authorization to grow medical cannabis for personal use. All you have to do is have the medical history that backs up your claim for medical use. It means you will risk being charged more than someone that has an authorization, but even people with authorization can still be arrested if the officer wants to. Medical cannabis still isn't actually legal. It just allows you to use and affirmative defense in a court of law. Kind of funny now that recreational use is legal.lol
Glad the homeowner took out the intruders, but I hope he faces charges for his grow operation. Â Chances are he wouldn't have been in a situation to have to deal with intruders if he didn't have a grow operation. Â
@KRM66 if i reported to you that it was a LEGAL GROW OPERATION or at the very least he is not guilty of anything until proven in a court of law. You all are judging on facts that are reported by KOMO that are completely inaccurate. TWO MASKED INTRUDERS NOBODY HAS EVER SEEN OR HEARD OF AGAIN?
Under that logic then nobody should do anything at home that has any value, because I know from experience thieves will steal anything (especially computers). Chances are I would have not had my computers stolen if I was not in the computer business. Just because a person decides to do something peaceful in their home, from growing a plant to installing a server array, it does not justify the crime of theft and robbery. Should he be prosecuted for growing? sure, I agree with that, but only if he was breaking the law because it is legal to grow for medical purposes.
@Dan You're comparing your legal computer business to an illegal drug operation?Â
Â
FAIL
I agree with that as well, if he was doing something illegal, especially not paying taxes, he should suffer the penalties. I do however fail to see how that is a deluded perspective. There is really noting violent or hurtful to others when growing plants in your home, just as there isn't when building computers in your home. Both are valuable and targets for theft. Whenever you have anything of value it becomes a target for thieves. I am sorry, but I cannot bring myself to blame a man for growing a plant as the cause for the shooting, logically I can only blame the people for bringing the violence to him. Regardless if the plant grower was legal under man made law standards, under moral standards I think  it's a very parallel perspective.
The homeowner will escape charges for the shooting but will probably have all his assets seized by the DEA.
When you break into someone's home, this is the risk you take. I am only on armed patrol of my property 4 days per week. My dog patrols the property 7 days a week. You'd be better off being shot by me than ripped to shreds by her.
@scared_citizen Paranoid much?
@Klondiko Of course he's not. He's armed. You should be paranoid for not being armed. Just because people take precautions, doesn't mean they're paranoid. Just like the police, military, security, home/land owner, etc. If someone locks their doors and windows every night, does that make them paranoid? Do you lock your front door? If not, then you should be paranoid.
@Chris Yeriab AGREED!!!
@MPS @777 @Klondiko MPS, you tell me that my logic is faulty, but you don't say why. There's a difference between faulty logic and just disagreeing. You get the two mixed up.  Paranoia is a state of fear and anxiety to the point of delusion.  There's a difference between being prepared and being paranoid. Our military and police carry firearms everyday. It doesn't make them paranoid. It makes them prepared. You made a judgement call about Klondiko without knowing his situation (in this case it was sarcasm and you completely missed the point). I don't care about what firearm you have.  Poking holes in paper doesn't make you a defense expert. You also made another judgement call about me and you don't even know me. Before you say things like "people like you" take a good close look at yourself.
@MPS @777 @Klondiko Of course I dont "Patrol" my property 4 days a week. It was sarcasm. Look it up. I am however, armed and capable of protecting my property (when I am home). My dog is very real and hears/smells much better than I do and she is home and alert 24/7. If needed, I can shoot to finish off whatever she leaves of any intruders.
@MPS @777 @Klondiko MPS if you don't casrry all the time aren't you playing roulette with your safety? Crime happens, it never warns you, it can and does happen anywhere. I have fire insurance for my home and keep it current but I've known more people that have used a firearm to stop a pottential attack than have burned down a house. (3 attacks thwarted without a shot fired, don't have a single friend or relative that's burned down a house). I guess having fire insurance qualifies me for being paranoid.
@777 Patroling your property 4 days a week sounds a bit paranoid, hope it isn't hundreds of acres, that would be a full time thing, now the dog or dogs is a great idea, they are wonderful alarm systems, and worth their weight in gold, got two big alarm systems myself, and they do their job well.
@777  @Klondiko Patrolling your property 4 days a week is paranoid.  Your logic is very, very faulty.  It's not paranoid to lock your doors and windows, but it is paranoid to patrol your property as he described.  I have a Glock 17, I shoot regularly, but I don't patrol my property with it and I don't carry it all the time because I'm not paranoid.  In fact, I don't fear criminals at all for the most part-- it's people like you and scared citizen who are far, far more dangerous. Â
Were the deceased illegal immigrants? How big was the illegal grow op.? Did the homeowner have ties to organized crime? Did the homeowner have gainful employment? How long was the grow op. functioning? Where did the homeowner live before? Who were the homeowners customers? many questions.....
@Funky-Munky Plus it doesn't matter.  The majority of crimes in this country are committed by citizens.  Most illegal immigrants know better. As for criminals, why does it matter if they are illegal immigrants or not-- all criminals are illegal.  Yet another idiot post from FM.
@Funky-Munky Most of your questions you will never get answers for because they're irrelevant to the public's need-to-know.
@Funky-Munky The homeowner endangered his entire family with this operation, oh well I guess to some people money comes before family
