Body of woman found on Vashon Island beach
VASHON ISLAND, Wash. -- Officials are working to identify a woman found dead on a beach on Vashon Island on Monday.
Passersby found the remains north of Paradise Cove, near SW 240th and 147th Ave.
It was not immediately clear how long the body may have been on the beach before it was found.
No other details were available.

Margaret Claver? She has been missing since 11/27/2009.
I know who she is. I won't say who. I spent part of Sunday doing a search for her. When I heard that she "left a note", I knew it was more of a recovery than a rescue.
The body of another woman was discovered last November on Vashon. I cannot find out if the coroner had decided about the cause of death.Â
This is so cruel. To release a news report with so little details. Many people are hoping this will be the closure they need on a missing friend or relative as you can see from the posts already here. At least with the forensic science where it is today it shouldn't be too long before something more is known?

Shantina Smiley? Was her body ever found?
@justsaying Shantina was my first thought as well - isn't that where her son's body washed up?  The story doesn't say whether the body was, um, intact.
That said, I'm not sure Shantina is actually dead. Â That was one weird story.
@justsaying Probably not. That was just about three years ago. Her body would be long gone by now, or hardy recognizable. Lacey Peterson was found non intact after a couple months in the water. Â
And, no, she has never been found.
