BURLINGTON, Wash. -- Employees at a bikini coffee house in Burlington are trying to identify the vandals who created a real mess outside the business.

A barista discovered the vandalism when she showed up for work early Tuesday morning. She said the vandals likely struck between 8:30 p.m. Monday and 4:20 a.m. Tuesday.

Barista Morgan Shuler said the vandals poured chocolate syrup, maple syrup, whipped cream, and ketchup all over the windows, the ground, and on some outside picnic tables. They also threw eggs at the business and tipped over all of the garbage cans in the back, she said.

Shuler said the vandalism was the first problem the business has had since it opened along Highway 20 several months ago.

"I don't know if it's targeted. I don't know," Shuler said. "If we did anything wrong, I wish they'd just confront us."

Shuler said she grabbed everything she could think of to try to clean the mess up. But her co-workers were still scrubbing the business down 14 hours after she started her shift.

There are several surveillance cameras mounted outside the café, so employees plan to review the footage to see if they can identify who was behind the vandalism.

The vandalism has been reported to the Skagit County Sheriff's Office, Shuler said. If you know anything about who was responsible, give them a call.
