W. Wash. motorcyclist killed in collision with deer in Ore.
The motorcyclist, from Lynnwood, Wash., collided with a deer on this stretch of rural Oregon highway.
SPRAY, Ore. - A Washington state man was killed Sunday morning when his motorcycle struck a deer along a rural Central Oregon highway.

Oregon State Police responded to the scene, Highway 19 west of Spray in Wheeler County, at about 7:55 a.m. after a passing motorist called to report a downed motorcycle on the roadway.

When troopers arrived, they found the motorcyclist and deer both dead along the highway.

The motorcyclist was later identified as Randall L. Upshaw, 63, of Lynnwood, Wash.

A preliminary investigation found that Upshaw likely collided with the deer sometime in the hour before his body was found. He was wearing a helmet.
