Wanted: DV suspect who may be armed with AK-47

PORT ANGELES, Wash. -- Port Angeles police are looking for a 37-year-old Port Angeles man suspected of multiple domestic-violence related offenses after serving a search warrant at house associated with him and finding a small explosive device.
Andrew David Nilsson, who also goes by Andrew Stanger, is considered likely to be armed and potentially dangerous, police said.
Port Angeles police served a warrant Wednesday at a house in the 200 block of Eighth Street, said Brian Smith, Port Angeles deputy police chief.
Police did not find Nilsson but found a ping-pong-ball sized device thought to contain explosives, prompting a call for the State Patrol bomb squad, Smith said.
Bomb technicians confirmed the device contained explosives and took it with them.
No other explosive devices were found at the house, Smith said.
Police seek to arrest Nilsson for investigation of second-degree assault, felony unlawful imprisonment, felony harassment, fourth-degree assault and third-degree theft.
All the charges are related to domestic violence, stemming from an incident that began on Sept. 29, Smith said.
Nilsson is described as white, 5-foot-10 inches tall and weighing 190 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.
Police believe he may be driving a white 1990 Honda Prelude with Washington license plates AHK8429.
Police suspect Nilsson may be armed with an AK-47 and potentially dangerous, Smith said.
Nilsson is reportedly suffering from mental issues.
Police have a felony warrant out for Nilsson's arrest.
Anyone who sees Nilsson or knows anything of his whereabouts should call 911.

This boy might be mad as he caresses his AK-47
I don't like DV any more than anyone else but a firecracker? Doubt that the bomb squad was required on this.
This boy looks psychotic.
Only in PA, WA
It was just a cherry bomb used on the 4th of July. Don't know why people keep getting involved in these DV's. If she's getting to be a pain just walk away.
 @Blindman Misogyny much?
Â
 @strangel00p  @Blindman How is being told to walk away rather than get involved in DV "misogyny"? Ah, the word that is misused almost as much as "racist"......
 @Wolfen  @dg54321  @Blindman Of course it's possible. But it was Blindman's assumption that she was a pain and not, the more likely, that the guy with the AK-47 was the problem. Or that the two of them need some relationship counseling. It takes two to tango and assuming, with no evidence, that "she" is the problem, is the very definition of misogyny.
 @strangel00p  @dg54321  @Blindman Is it so impossible to believe that "she" is? I walked away from an abusive relationship, and "she" was a pain. I am a male, and "she" did the hitting, throwing, punching and breaking. Yea......she was a PAIN alright.
 @dg54321  @Blindman "If she's getting to be a pain..." presumes "she's" the problem.
 @Blindman he is getting involved because he is an abusive degenerate with a goddamn AK47
So glad he has the legal right to own an AK-47. Makes us all so much safer!
@strangel00p
I must have missed the portion of the article where it states that he had a legal right to own a firearm. The photo shown appears to be a booking photo, if he had been previously found guilty of a felony, I do not believe he has the legal right to own a firearm.
 @Conservative liberal  @strangel00p You way well be right. My comment was to make the point that our gun laws are way too lax and that no private citizen should have the right to own an assault rifle.
 @Stock Woodie  @Conservative liberal Thank you for providing some info (snark unneeded). I'd argue, then, that the hunting rifles you describe should also be out of reach for the average citizen. It's a simple public safety issue when the police can be so easily out-armed.
 @strangel00p  @Conservative liberal In case you didn't know, there isn't a whole lot of different between an AK47 you can purchase (not automatic) and many hunting rifles. In fact, there are many hunting rifles that are much more powerful. It's just the stigma of "assault" rifle you are concerned about. Typical and uninformed.
 @strangel00p You sir, have not experienced the ecstasy of firing off one of these fine soviet era weapons. You should remedy that, its guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
 @progun Irrelevant.
 @progun  @strangel00p Bump fire. That is all. :D
 @strangel00p Me too. It also means you have the legal right to own an AK-47. Good job Constitution.
 @Stock Woodie Sounds like a blast.
 @Stock Woodie  @strangel00p I wonder which "well-regulated militia" Mr. Nilsson belongs to?
 @Sutekh  @Stock Woodie  @strangel00p The Arizona Gun toting Society
I always wonder about people who have a name, but are "also known as"......
He looks a lot like a disreputable contractor we had dealings with a while back. Maybe he's related to Nate...lol
Sounds like his explosive was a illegal firework.
