Wash. man arrested with high-quality fake money
LONGVIEW, Wash. (AP) - Cowlitz County sheriff's detectives have arrested a man they suspect of making counterfeit money to use at the Clark County Fair, which opens Friday.

The Columbian reports that the investigation indicated the man was manufacturing high-quality money and had used as much as $20,000 of it to buy drugs and pay off debts recently.

An informant told officers the man was making a new batch of cash to be distributed at the fair.

Deputies found a printer, linen paper, forged currency and drug paraphernalia in a Longview home after serving a search warrant.

They say 34-year-old Jeremiah J.H. Anderson was arrested Wednesday night for investigation of forgery.

KATU-TV in Portland, Ore., reports that Anderson was arrested earlier for attempted forgery, theft, possession of drugs, and drug paraphernalia by Woodland Police on March 3 this year. At the time, Anderson had counterfeit currency in his wallet and in his car.

In June, Anderson was also arrested for theft and identify theft for his involvement in a case of forged checks that Kelso police investigated in May 2012.

If anyone has any information about these investigations they are encouraged to call Detective Rob Stumph at 360-577-3092. Callers who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 360-577-1206.
