Double murder suspect to be extradited back to King County

SEATTLE (AP) - Washington authorities plan to extradite a man caught in Oregon who's suspected of killing his grandparents after they picked him up from prison and hosted a welcome home party for him.
King County prosecutors in Seattle expect to file charges against Michael Chadd Boysen, spokesman Dan Donohoe said Wednesday.
Boysen, 26, is accused of killing Robert R. Taylor, 82, and Norma J. Taylor, 80, after they welcomed him to their Renton home after his release from prison Friday.
He is held on a no-bail warrant from the Washington Department of Corrections for violating terms of his release, Donohoe said. Boysen remains at Legacy Emmanuel Medical Center in Portland, Ore., in serious condition, spokeswoman Amber Shoebridge said Wednesday.
He had been in critical condition after he was found with self-inflicted cuts when police entered the motel room Tuesday to arrest him.
Investigators don't know why he went to Lincoln City, said King County sheriff's Sgt. Cindy West. They also don't know what may have motivated him to kill his grandparents. They aren't saying exactly how the two were killed, except they weren't shot.
Boysen checked into the WestShore OceanFront Suites on the Oregon coast Monday night under his own name and was recognized by an employee who called police.
Boysen reportedly blocked the door with a refrigerator. Police used a robot to urge Boysen to surrender. They used a water cannon and tear gas before breaking through the door.
Officers found him lying on the floor on his back with apparently serious self-inflicted cuts, Lincoln City police Chief Keith Kilian said.
King County Sheriff John Urquhart called Boysen extremely dangerous because of threats he had made while in prison against his family and law enforcement. Authorities didn't learn of the threats until after he made the news, suspected of killing in his grandparents.
The Taylors had picked him up from the Washington state prison at Monroe. They drove him to a meeting with a parole officer Friday, helped him get an identity card from the Department of Licensing and held a party for him.
Officials believe they were killed that night or Saturday morning. Their bodies were found Saturday by Boysen's mother when she went to check on her parents.
Boysen had just finished serving nine months in prison on a burglary conviction, said Washington state Corrections Department spokesman Chad Lewis. He was previously in prison between 2006 and February 2011 for four robbery convictions. Those convictions were related to an addiction to narcotic painkillers, Lewis said.

the cops obviously entered the room too soon.
too bad he isn't dead.
Rats, he lived. He could kill his grandparents but not himself.Â
I can't see where this isn't just a matter of paperwork. Boysen is flat out of luck, because he's on the way to a state with the death penalty. Now, the question is 'Will a Seattle jury and/or the King County Prosecutor be willing to give this mutt the death sentence he so richly deserves?'
It's a valid question, seeing as Naveed Haq [the Jewish Federation shooter] wasn't sentenced to death and I can't think of someone in Washington State who needs to be put down more than Haq and Ridgeway.
No Kidding?
Where else can ya get a better term than WA?
I wonder if he'll get his old cell back?
Well he now has a permanent room at the gray bar hotel for life.
That sick maggot should be "extradited" to HELL !
"extremely dangerous because of threats he had made while in prison against his family and law enforcement. Authorities didn't learn of the threats until after he made the news..."
You wouldn't be surprised with how often incarcerated individuals make these threats and released with no thought as to what they will do next. DOC needs some changes to stop rushing people out the door due to budget cuts and over population. Obviously, it's not safe for the community. Gauranteed this is not the only story with this ending.
Oh, they picked him up from prison and hosted a welcome home party for him? Oh that's classic! I can't say if a relative of mine was a career criminal like this guy, I can't imagine I would be wanting anything to do with them. Safe bet they won't do that with him again!
@Zoso Like many sociopaths, he was probably charismatic with them and totally using them. Sociopaths try to gain your trust - mainly by making you feel sorry for them. I got that out of the book the sociopath next door, It was a good book. The only thing the psychiatrist who wrote it could find that was consistent between sociopaths is they made you feel sorry for them for things they did - ie hurt someone, etc. They're the crocodile tears bunch.
Ditto.
If someone get shot to death, the headline always make sure we all see that a gun was used! If someone get stabbed to death, it is a secret! Then they write "They aren't saying exactly how the two were killed, except they weren't shot."
Damn shame he did not do a better job on himself. Now he will cost us millions.
He'd probably do more time if he weren't prosecuted in King Co.Â
@lakeview Yes, being the most liberal county in the state .
@Dieseldog @lakeview And smartest and wealthiest too.Â
@lakeview  Care to quantify your assertions? No? I didn't think so.
@lakeview @Dieseldog And yeah, what is your point? Boeing and Gates made King county rich. Boeing was out here making money from deforestation of King county when he decided to build an airplane right before WWI. I guess it was a good business to enter right before a war. Boeing liked King county so much they moved their HQs to Chicago. At least Boeing still keeps an assembly line or two in King county but we have seen the future with the 787 line starting in South Carolina.Â
Bill Gates started Microsoft in King county because this was his home. Gates liked King county so much with him behind the wheel of Microsoft that they were pioneers in off shoring jobs right from King county to overseas locations. And don't mention the billions of dollars Microsoft has spent lobbying our US government for more cheap labor work visas. And King county just plays right along. If Gates did not start Microsoft up here I doubt there would be Amazon or any of the other high tech firms up here.
Smartest? King county is in debt even with the billions of dollars of tax revenues it makes per year. If I ran my hosehold money accounts like King county runs its money accounts I would be living on the streets or in jail.
So I don't think King county can claim smartest it is mere luck than smarts that attracted the 2 biggest employers in King county. And the wealth comes from the same luck.
King county has a lot of other things going for it like residents Michael Chadd Boysen and Gary Ridgway. This article talks about Michael Chadd Boysen but for those that may not know Gary Ridgway was convicted of killing 49 woman and girls and is thought to have killed over a 100 by some estimates. Even he does not know the exact amount of woman and girls he has killed. Oh and since I know @lakeview loves to be antigun, both Michael Chadd Boysen and Gary Ridgway did not use guns. That could be a body count of over 100 people murdered all without a gun. Maybe King county should invest more in proper care for the mentally ill then trying to take guns away from law abiding citizens.Â
And your point is?
Just think that this dirtbag almost killed himself while in prison a few months before his release. I bet the officer who found him wished he had let him bleed.out.
Yay, now we can look forward to a costly, lengthy trial where the end result would have been the same as if he'd just plead guilty. I'll be surprised if he admits his guilt in this. Christopher Monfort, Part II.
"critical condition" they should have let him bleed to death, maybe get his heart pumping so it would happen a little faster
I like how the photos Komo is featuring get continually more cropped and enlarged with each new posting.Â
