Where's Kyron? Boy missing since 2010 would now be 10

PACIFIC, Wash. -- Nearly three years have passed since Kyron Horman disappeared from a Portland school where his stepmother says she dropped him off.
An age-progression photo to show what he would look like now has been released in a poster from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The poster is displayed on the Gordon Trucking fleet of trucks in Washington and Oregon.
Kyron's father, Kaine Horman, was at an event Monday at the trucking company yard in Pacific where the Washington State Patrol highlighted the latest addition to the Homeward Bound Program.
For Kaine, the photo is hard to process. Not having had the chance to watch his son grow, it's painful for him to imagine the boy nearly three years older.
"I have lots of friends who have kids about his age, and (I've been) watching them grow through the years and just trying to imagine what he's (Kyron is) like now," he said.
No arrests have been made in Kyron's disappearance. His mother, Desiree Young, is suing the stepmother, Terri Horman, seeking a court order to force her to say what happened to him.
Among the supporters of the missing boy's parents is Melissa Baum, whose own daughter, Lindsey Baum, has been missing since June 2009. Lindsey's image is also featured on trucks traveling the country.
"Let's hope that it's going to help bring them home," said Melissa Baum, "that the trucks are going to be seen by someone out there who's seen one of them."
Melissa's support has proven comforting to Kyron's parents.
"I think it gives you that sense of community that you're not alone," said Kaine. "There are other people who are going through it as well, and that's helpful. We're all hopeful."
For his son, Kaine had a message: "We're doing everything we can to find where you are. Keep positive thoughts. We'll keep doing everything from our end to get this resolved and bring you home.
"We love you. We miss you."
Really, this is no different than the kid in Kirkland, whose name we're all forgetting. Why are the "rights" of these suspect mothers so sacred.? We oughta have a way to have a judge intervene in cases like this and order a thorough "interrogation." Yeah, we have to butcher the 5th Amendment a bit, but unless you can prove otherwise, these kids are dead and the killers are free because of our apathy.  Â
@bagsofdirt They don't need to trash anything, they just need to grow a pair and do what the law already allows them to. These district attorneys are so scared of going up against high paid private attorneys that they let these cases die rather than filing charges.
@bagsofdirt because this is America and that's the way we roll. Don't like it? Go back to ______.
Using the sides of semi trailers is a great idea for things like this. I wonder why this isn't more common. Most trailers I see have nothing on them anyway.
Itâs a nice gesture, and way better than nothing, but at his age I gave up hope he would surface alive some time back. Forget the step-mom. Go after her friend. The step-mom is hard as armor steel, but I wonder how well her friend would hold up if she thought she was headed to prison for 10+ years.Â
I imagine the Bellevue Police Dept lead detectives who have been working on the Sky Metawala case are working closely on this case with their counterparts in Oregon - (sarcasm)
@Pegasus or they are still hung-over or thrust into hanky pinky
You know it's an official Slow News Day when KOMO rummages around for moldering old stories where there's nothing new to report such as this one and just sort of flops it out there. Look for another story on Hope Solo tomorrow. Fascinating stuff.
@PilonidalCyst It's called keeping the search alive and keeping the public aware in case anything should come up, which is what we do when people, kids especially are still missing. I guess if you should disappear, we won't worry wasting stories on you. Technically it would probably do everyone else a favor and spare us from you rude and pointless rants!
well let's see, another person said hang the step mom by her toes...I say hang em all by their toes....This little boy having no one fight for him is the victim of the all time family feud of wickedness and divorce. They used him as a peg to play against each other...One of these adults if that's what you wanna call em, knows where he his and where he isn't. They used him as a pawn and they decided whether he was going to live. All of them are guilty and the police, the detectives have all got their thumbs up their you know what asking questions, and settleing with their lying answers. Unbelievable! HOW DO THESE OFFICERS SLEEP AT NITE???
Reelin21 you sound like an idiot, do you really think the police involved in these cases are sitting idley by and doing nothing ? they are methodically building a case against the mother and stepmother in these cases and they are not going to put out in the media what they have so far against them.
@reelin21 You can't group everyone together.  This father is doing everything he can to find his son.  He isn't in this for the money or any attention it might bring to him.  He wants the attention focused on bringing Kyron home!  God forbid that anything should ever happen to a member of your family.  Then you might feel some of the pain that he is going thru not knowing where his son is.
Kyron, we will find you and bring you home, ALIVE!!!!
Â
@reelin21 Agree they all Guilty could not of said it better myself. Its ever her step mom real mom and or dad sad when one use the kid as the pawn.

@AS400GURU Exactly!! When there is a child missing and it's 100% obvious that someone knows what's happened not wanting to talk should not be an option.
Do not think he is alive. :(
@Half-Baked Sadly, me either. That stepmother knows what happened......
The stepmother knows. She needs to come clean.
I wish she  would also. She has no conscience nor morals.
Â
I remeber following this story closely and from hearing her and all of her friends statements I can confidently say that I am sure the step mom knows exactly where he is. This story is just like the Sky case in Bellevue where the mom knows where he is. I refuse the accept that nothing can be done!! It just disgusts me that these 2 people are walking around free. Do these people not have a conscience??
I think of him often. I can't imagine what his parents have gone through, just not knowing. Thoughts and prayers to them.
@panda bear I think of Kyron often too! His story has been stuck in my mind and my heart since day one! I pray he is found and returned to his mom soon! It makes me so mad that the step mom has not been arrested! If there was anything good in this lady she would tell the truth! Let the mom know where her son is whether he is alive or not!!! I pray he is found alive...
I was thinking about him the other day. It's a shame that his parents don't know where he is and the ones that do know aren't talking.Â
Although I would like for Kyron found alive, I suspect he has been worm meal for years. Think about it, the step mom does not want to take care of a kid that is not her own, she wanted to start all over, but did not think there would be so much media publicity. Who is the only âperson of interestâ? Funny, back in the day we called this the prime suspect.
I doubt he is alive , but hope so ..Prayers and thoughts to the family and friends ...Wish people would stop hurting our kids...
