MARYSVILLE, Wash. - Police are investigating after a 69-year-old woman and her 26-year-old grandson were found shot to death Friday morning at a Marysville home.
Officers responded to the home, in the 5900 block of 64th Street, at about 9 a.m. Friday after receiving a call from an 82-year-old Marysville man who reported the deaths.
When police arrived, they found the man's 69-year-old wife and his grandson dead in the living room of the home.
The man told detectives the grandson had recently moved in with him and his wife from Florida. According to the grandfather, the grandson had mental health issues and was not taking his prescribed medication.
"We are in the very early stages of a death investigation; with lots of questions that still need to be answered," said Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux of the Marysville police.
He said police won't speculate on exactly what happened - but they do believe it is not a random act of violence and that there is no immediate threat of danger to local residents.
The identity of the woman and grandson were not immediately released. Officers also were keeping mum about the cause of death.
