TACOMA, Wash. -- A woman was injured when she fell about 75 feet down an embankment at Tacoma's Pt. Defiance Park Tuesday afternoon.
High-angle rescue crews with Tacoma Fire were worked to reach the woman and bring her back to safety.
Officials said the woman was in stable condition with a broken leg and twisted ankle and was being taken to a local hospital for treatment.
There is no word yet what caused her to fall.

I was wondering why all the emergency vehicles were racing towards the Point earlier.

I live about 1/2 a mile from Pt. Defiance and spend time there regularly; there are always people going past the posted fences and barriers by the cliffs. I am not saying that is what happened in this instance, but it wouldn't surprise me. Either way, I hope she makes a quick recovery.
Gravity and stupidity can cause broken bones..
Actually, you are all wrong. What caused her fall was gravity. ;-)
Rather obvious how she got hurt. As teens/young adults going down to the 5 Mile Drive and Owen's Beach and running wild climbing all over those cliffs was just part of having fun. Heck my sister and I still go down there with our kids and allow them to attempt the milder, "safer" hills. It's a great way to get outside and have fun and get some great cardio at the same time. Sometimes you misjudge things and it gets out of hand. Heal quickly!

How about being to close to the edge?
@steve340 Yeah she had to be "Close To The Edge!" And obviously she was a little too "Fragile!" Couldn't resist. A little humor for any Yes fans out there. :)
