Fire burns University Place home

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. -- A fast-moving fire burned a home in University Place Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out just before 11 a.m. in the 5300 block of 87th Ave. Ct. W., fire officials said. The woman who owns the home told firefighters she heard an explosion and got out.

Originally, firefighters feared the woman's 20-year-old granddaughter was still inside the burning home, but turns out she wasn't home.

There is no word what started the fire.
