Woman's body found alongside Hwy. 12 near Aberdeen

ABERDEEN, Wash. - State troopers are hoping tips from the public will help them find the driver who struck and killed a woman in Grays Harbor County, then fled the scene.

A motorist stopped to get fresh air Tuesday when they noticed the body in a ditch on the side of Highway 12 just east of Aberdeen.

State troopers believe the victim was walking alongside the highway when she was hit by a car and died at the scene.

Investigators aren't sure how long ago the woman was struck, but said it could have been as early as Monday night. Authorities are still trying to figure out her identity.
