EVERETT, Wash. - Authorities have launched a homicide investigation after a woman's body was found Saturday morning in a South Everett parking lot.
Deputies responded to the scene, the parking lot of La Palmera Family Mexican restaurant, in the 1600 block of Center Road, at about 6:45 a.m. Saturday after receiving a report of a person down, said Lt. Rob Palmer of the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.
When deputies arrived, they found the woman's body at the scene.
Snohomish County's Major Crimes Unit was called to the scene to investigate, and the death is being treated as a homicide at this time, Palmer said.
The woman's identity, as well as the cause of death, will be determined by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Palmer said investigators do not believe the incident poses any threat to the public.
“While the investigation is still in its earliest stages, we do not have concerns that there is any continuing danger to the public at this time," he said.
Palmer did not say whether any suspects have yet been identified in the woman's death.

RIP Julia.
I know I live not even a mile up from here.. All I can say sherriff is a joke....Always harassing people that dont need it and ignoring people that do... Police know who this woman was and hopefully justice will be served to the sick human that did this to her.
If anyone thinks that their neighborhoods are safe, perhaps your heads need to be extracted from the sand or wherever it may be lodged and look around for a change. Stories like this don't surprise me anymore, no matter where the location is. I am just thankful to be able to defend myself from any attack that may come my way from the zombies. Wake up peeps, did you just think the zombie apocalypse was just some fairy tale?...If you pay attention, you can spot them a mile away.
Its sad that this happened especially right down the street from were I live.I find my neighborhood very nice and safe, Â just scary that it happened right in my backyard..I hope we dont continue to hear these type of news. My prayers to her and her family.
Maybe she was inside drinking with someone and things turned bad when she went to the parking lot. I am sure the law enforcement will be looking into that.Â
This is about a half a mile down the road from me. Right across the street on that same corner all the men gather looking to be picked up for work at Home Depot. In the last few months I've noticed a lot of women and prostitutes hanging around as well.Â
That part of Everett has been a haven for prostitution and drugs for years.
You always hear about the dangers of walking in the U District at night, Â but various parts of the Seattle metro area are filled with hate and crime. Â Look at Aurora Ave North near Everett and the people frequentlng the bars. Â It's an evil atmosphere of thugs, liars cheats and drug dealors.Â
@HullenbeckCowl Spoken by someone who obviously doesn't know Everett... Aurora Ave N is not what we call this road up here... We call it Highway 99 in South Everett and as you travel north it becomes Evergreen Way, then Everett Mall Way, then Broadway. Aurora Ave ends in Shoreline I think.
 @lilhikergrl  @HullenbeckCowl You, clearly don't know Everett, either, as 99 splits into Evergreen (still 99) and Everett Mall Way. Evergreen then turns into Rucker.
 @Lloyd Christmas  @lilhikergrl  @HullenbeckCowl Actually that's a common misconception. At an intersection of Evergreen Way and Everett Mall Way, SR 99 goes northeast on Everett Mall Way. This is from back when it was still "The Broadway Cut-Off", before I-5 and remains that way on maps today.
 @lilhikergrl  @HullenbeckCowl nice one girly!
Dont let that deter you. BEST Mexican food in the county, i kid you not.
Hands down, the best in Western Washington. Always have been since they opened in the early-mid 90's. Very nice people and great service.
Always has been since they opened in the early-mid 90's. Hands down, the best in Western Washington, for sure. Very nice people and great Service.

My wife and I frequent this resturant, and I agree with jarrod. Best Mexican food i've ever had, and they dont cheap out on the drinks either. Tip the staff well they earn it.
 @thatsjarrod Think I will wait until I hear the coroners report. :-)
@Grumpa @thatsjarrod r u sayin' it's "to die 4"?
Everett has turned into a ghetto. It's incredibly strange how there is SO much money in the Seattle and Bellevue metro areas but right up in the road in Everett it's a blighted ghetto. Paupersville!Â
Everett is the same as anywhere else that has terrible law enforcement. Of couse people are out of control, if you have any experience with the police there, you would know why. It's not about public service or knowing the law, it's about getting away with whatever justice they want to enforce.
My whole family is in law enforcement, and even they are disgusted with Snohomish county and Everett P.D.
I Pray for that womans family, and I pray I don't know her. Rest in peace,
 @HallandOates It's not strange in the slightest. Bellevue and Seattle are where the high tech jobs are (Microsoft, Google, Amazon) and thus brings in people of higher educational levels/money who make their homes there. Everett does not have the type of jobs that you find in Bellevue and Seattle. There are gorgeous homes on Grand Avenue in Everett, but yes, for the most part, Everett is a ghetto and I would never choose to make my home there.
 @Chipwrecked  @HallandOates funny, Boeing makes more money than Microsoft does, Boeing employees roughly the same amount of people in the puget sound area AND pays them very well
 @Chipwrecked  @HallandOates Ever heard of Boeing? Â
 @Chipwrecked  @HallandOates who cares if the Everett area is ghetto or nice this is about a women who was murdered !! may she rest in peace!
@HallandOates I actually love parts of Everett. Those old historic homes near the water are absolutely beautiful, check out their lawns!!! I live on Mercer Island and you just don't really see very old craftsman style homes here. Sure it's rich and we really don't have a ghetto but I personally prefer those beautiful homes in Everett that have substance, character etc. vs the modern mansions. Pfft, you obviously don't know Everett all too well or Seattle and Bellevue both of which have their "ghetto" areas.
 @alildifferent  @HallandOates Actually I do know Everett quite well. Lived in the Snohomish County area for the past 20 years. Â
Â
I find it very strange how Everett (as well as Marysville) are such ghetto of cities when there is SO much money in the region. There is such a lack of investment from developers in these cities. I think most of the blame rests on the mayors and city councils of the cities. If they wanted beautiful cities, skyscrapers, mixed use, etc., etc., they'd instruct their planning departments to prepare plans that either encouraged this or required it. Â
Â
Except for colby avenue in Everett, there's not much nice about Everett. The new Providence hospital sticks out like a sore thumb and dwarfs in scale the tiny houses it surrounds. That what a lack of planning and vision result in.
@HallandOates This particular area of Everett is pretty bad, but there are areas of Everett that are very nice. Some areas of historic N Everett have very luxurious homes that are worth millions. I can think of some seriously trashy areas in Seattle and Bellevue as well. I was born and raised in Everett and quite frankly I'm tired of ignorant out-of-towners painting my home town as nothing but a ghetto. It's actually very nice in my neighborhood, and many others as well.
@HallandOates Not all of Everett is a ghetto. There are many parts of Everett that are affluent. Large homes and weel manicured yards. Just like any city there are good areas and bad. Money doesn't stop crime, in some cases it creates it.
