Yakima woman found bound and gagged in car
YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) - Police say a 20-year-old Yakima woman was found bound and gagged in the trunk of a car near the Yakima airport after being kidnapped from her home Thursday.
Police say the woman was taken from her home by her mother's ex-boyfriend.
The Yakima Herald-Republic reported Friday the 44-year-old Sunnyside man is jailed pending possible charges of burglary and kidnapping.
Police say he broke into the woman's house, bound and gagged her, and locked her in the trunk of his car. Then he used the daughter's cell phone to send texts to her mother in Benton City asking her to come to Yakima to talk.

I can see why this is an EX boyfriend. Best of luck to moving on past this for the daughter and mother.Â
I wonder if a box of candy or flowers ever crossed his thought process....
Nothing melts a woman's heart like abducting her children.
What sentence does kidnapping carry? 30 years? Not nearly long enough.
@Waif Last I heard kidnapping was still a FEDERAL crime...
@TheTruncheon  @Waif Many states have their own laws
regarding abduction and/or kidnapping. Those laws usually compliment
the federal statutes and do not undercut the federal statutes.

Name? Mugshot?
Well, if it was to come back and talk, guessing they ain't gonna try to work things out, unless if the guy is missing a few braincells.
@Zoso Anyone who thought this was a good idea is most likely missing LOTS of braincells!
Nothing says "I love you, please come back to me" like kidnapping your ex's daughter and stuffing her in your trunk... jeez
I wonder what would have happened to the mother if this psycho had gotten his hands on her. Glad the girl is alright and hopefully this man spends a good chunk of the rest of his life behind bars!
@Tattooed_Angel Just curious but where did it say the girl was okay?
@Funky-Munky @Tattooed_Angel i guess because the article says may be charged with kidnapping vs murder ?
Â
"gagged in the truck of a car"Â What is the TRUCK of a car?
Thanks you.
@J LAKE I am more amazed by the fact that you read a story of this nature and what bothers you most is a misspelled word.
@J LAKE Spell check, proofreading and investigative reporting went out the window years ago.....
@J LAKE This is what happens with digital media. No one cares about spelling, punctuation, or proof reading. You won't find ONE news story correct anymore. I know the person who use to be the Senior Editor ,of what use to be, the Seattle Times. He just can't believe how unprofessional the writing and checking of these stories has become before they post them. They just type away at 1000 words a minute and post them without even checking anything.Â
@theworldsamess  @J LAKE "person who use to be" it happens to the best of us ;-)
"come and talk" ?

What an ice breaker.
@Komo Dragon Sociopath... (just a thought)
