Man injured in Granite Falls house fire

GRANITE FALLS, Wash. -- A man was injured when flames torched a part of his home on Tuesday morning.
Granite Falls Fire Chief Jim Haverfield said the occupant of a home in the 16800 block of 130th St. NE called 911 around 11:30 a.m. The dispatcher told the man to evacuate, but he said he wanted to stay and try to extinguish the flames, the chief said.
Firefighters arrived and found the man on the second floor, unconscious but breathing. The victim was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in unknown condition.
The blaze was contained to the second floor.
It was not immediately known how the fire started. Fire officials had trouble assessing the fire "due to the amount of material in the home," Haverfield said.

Looks like it's a small miracle they could get to him with all the "material".
Glad they got to him in time and he wasn't badly injured.
I think not.. Amount of "Material" typically equates to hoarding. Its a giant fire hazard.
Hmmmmmm...another meth lab up in smoke?
@TreeTopFlyer What makes you say that?
@Silvia  @TreeTopFlyer Granite Falls, meth capital of the world
@Silvia  @yeahguy  @TreeTopFlyer Yes but there was a 60 minutes or similar national news magazine show on the meth issue which focused on that area. In any case, it does have some notoreity
@yeahguy @TreeTopFlyer That's a misconception. Granite Falls doesn't have any more of a meth problem than any other small, rural type town (easy to hide meth labs in the forests surrounding small towns). I've researched Granite Falls thoroughly, spend a lot of time there - wouldn't be doing that if it were an unsafe place. Rolling Stone magazine did an article about the supposed meth problem there a while back, if I recall - it was loaded with errors. But it started the myth of Granite Falls as a town for meth labs....
