Police: Double murder suspect may be looking for more guns

FAIRWOOD, Wash. -- Police are giving strong, urgent pleas for help finding a double murder suspect who they fear is now trying to obtain additional weapons.
Michael (Chad) Boysen, 26, is the suspect in the murder of his grandparents on Friday night, said Sgt. Cindi West with the King County Sheriff's Office.
Detectives have been told that Boysen may be trying to get additional weapons because evidence showed Boysen searched the internet for information on gun shows across the Pacific Northwest and Nevada, West said.
Boysen is now considered "an extreme danger to the public and police," West said.
Boysen was last heard from on Friday night when he was at the victims' Fairwood home in the 16200 block of 145th Ave. SE, West said. On Saturday, the victims' daughter discovered their bodies after becoming concerned they could not be reached.
Family members identified the couple as Robert R. and Norma J. Taylor. They were both in their early 80s.
Detectives are also searching for the couple's car that is missing from the home. It is a red 2001 Chrysler 300 with Washington license plate number 046-XXU. They believe Boysen may be driving the car. A photo of the car shows there may be a memorial ribbon magnet attached to the trunk.
Boysen was released from prison on Friday after serving a sentence for a residential burglary conviction. His criminal history includes felony convictions for robbery. Boysen is 5-feet-10-inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds.
West asked anyone who sees Boysen or the Chrysler to call 911 immediately.

Whoever did this was either on foot or was brought there by somebody. Whoever verified that Boysen was there Friday night might have seen him/them and knows if Boysen was by himself or not. The police probably figured all that out since they've gone public that Boysen is the suspect. Looks like they gave him a chance to clear himself before changing his status to "the suspect".
I swear yesterday this guy wasn't even a "person of interest" he was being called "missing" by police. Now he is a double murder suspect and armed and extremely dangerous? That sure changed quickly.Â
@lakeview Well that's what happens as they investigate. Originally he could have been a victim/kidnapped, they had a missing car. Now they've put together a bigger picture of what is going on with him.
Don't think he is planning to buy a gun on the internet or at gun shows as he has priors for residential burglary and robbery. He will most likely steal it (them) while out of prison. He knows he will get life now so nothing he does matters anyway to his outcome
@32jim2Â possibly hang out and try to steal one from a car at the show?Â
@32jim2Â there are no background checks at gun shows.Â
@flexibletable @32jim2 At the shows I go to, you have to pass the background check to become a member. Members are the only ones allowed to buy or sell and only to another member. It may be that you do not have to be a member to buy from one of the FFL dealers, but they conduct the same check at the show as they do in their regular place of business. Unless you have a CPP, you need to go to the dealers business three days later to pick up your firearm even if you pay for it at the show. So, no he could not go to one of these shows and buy a forearm.Â
@oldster70 @flexibletable @32jim2 Unless he found someone willing to make a deal in the parking lot. That's probably why they wanted to get the information out, so people would know what he looks like and be wary. And, don't tell me deals aren't made in the parking lot, because I know for a fact that they are at times.
@oldster70 @flexibletable @32jim2 There are non-WAC shows that don't have the WAC membership/CPL requirement.
@flexibletable @32jim2 There are if you buy from a licensed dealer.
@NW-Economist @lakeview @flexibletable Let's take that logic loop to its logical conclusion by asking what the rules are in the rest of the Pacific Northwest (Oregon, Idaho, Northern California) and Nevada where he was searching the internet?
@NW-Economist @lakeview @flexibletable Not true, there are non WAC shows e.g. http://wesknodelgunshows.com/pages/rules.htmlÂ
@DarkParty @lakeview @flexibletable I bought 6 guns at the Seattle Gun Buyback. Thanks Mayor McGinn for putting on show a great gun show!
@lakeview @flexibletable You have to be a member to buy a gun from anyone at a WA gun show, Sure there are parking lot deals but not as common as some think.
@lakeview @flexibletableAnd lets finish the logic loop, the only way to buy guns at a WA show is from a licensed dealer who will ask to see your WAC membership which means... YOU WENT THROUGH A BACKGROUND CHECK.
I guess facts are as grabby as repeating "gunshow loophole" over and over.
"Police: Double murder suspect may be looking for more guns"
How do they know he want's "more" guns, Where is it stated that he already "has" any?
@DarkParty He shot his grandparents.... presumably with a gun.
@Watcher3Â Where did you find out he shot his grandparents? i can't find out how they died.
@Watcher3Â @32jim2Â honestly, I'm beginning to think Komo wants to get the gun debate in a tizzy.
@32jim2Â In the other story they are now saying he didn't shoot them, so I must have imagined it. Still doesn't explain why they said "more guns".
@Watcher3Â @32jim2 I never heard any cause of death, just that they were murdered.
@32jim2Â @Watcher3Â Interesting, I swear some of the first reports said they had been shot. I can't find anything now.
@DarkParty ...or when the internet search was conducted, and how they know it was a search performed by this guy?
Where are all the "don't be quick to judge" sympathizers this morning???
@Throbbinhood They all fell in line after i proclaimed on day one... "He's the guy!"
@NW-Economist My apologies for not posting inline - im getting nothing but error messages.
You can ROFL all you want. I'm responding to your comment: "Komo you forgot to mention that it's pointless for criminals to get guns at gunshows in WA because before you can get into gunshows here you have to become a WAC member and pass a background check." Your statement was incorrect. That's my point. By posting misinformation you discredit the pro-gun community.
@MackDX3Â @NW-EconomistIt was a typo and you obviously saw the several responses I made pointing that out, you're not a friend to the pro-gun community, troll elsewhere. Besides, even if it wasn't a typo the article said he's trying to acquire a gun, not take pictures of them or visit them like a museum. You are just a WA ceasefire hack.Â
@NW-Economist @MackDX3 HAHAHA!!! That's good. Okay then, have a good day in your infinite wisdom. I think I'll take me and my "troll" self out to the range today and have a good laugh with my friends about how ~I'M~ not a friend to the gun community. Hope you and your eNORmous ego have a good week.Â
@MackDX3 @NW-Economist @lakeviewYou missed it when he was trying to tell everyone it was legal to have a fully automatic weapon in WA, until he finally admitted the truth concerning the date and when it had to have been  acquired.Â
@NW-Economist @lakeview Really? A glorified "I know you are, but what am I?" Â
@lakeviewI think you have it backwards, that's what we say about you. The only comments you can make that are immune from this must have been made before 1994! lol
@aintno1special @MackDX3 @lakeview Oh man... Thank you. Clearly been a long day already. lol...Â
@MackDX3Â @lakeview ...you are reading this post backwards...he was talking TO you not ABOUT you.
@lakeview I'd like to know when I have "pretended to know everything". I've posted 5 times since joining last month. And I surely don't remember running into you. My apologies if I was rude. That was not my intent if I was.
@MackDX3 @NW-Economist Try to ignore this user. He pretends to know everything and is often wrong. And even when wrong he is rude and insulting. Don't waste your time.
@NW-Economist No... you are incorrect. 1) yes I am pro gun. 2) I've NEVER been a WAC member... and I go to ALL the gun shows in WA. You pay a couple extra bucks to get in - you don't have to be a member to attend. You have to be a member to BUY guns... but only if the vendor abides by the rules. Ignorance.Â
@MackDX3Â @NW-EconomistROFL, you are splitting hairs, what's the difference between a dealer at a show breaking the law and a criminal stealing a gun? Both are illegal. The point I was making was that it's legally impossible for someone to get into and buy a gun at a gunshow.
What else would be the point of me pointing that out? The story said he was trying to acquire guns, not go visit them and look at them at gunshows!Â
Wow, no wonder this article was written anonymously as "Komo Staff," the blatant mistruths in it and anti-gun bias in it are staggering.
Komo you forgot to mention that it's pointless for criminals to get guns at gunshows in WA because before you can get into gunshows here you have to become a WAC member and pass a background check.
Again, there is no gunshow loophole. It's a myth.Â
A lie of omission is still a lie. How about some balanced coverage Komo? Â It's obvious you have politically motivated reports who have thrown-in with WA Ceasefire and have an anti-gun agenda, or else why all the unbalanced coverage? I didn't even see any coverage at all of the rally down in Olympia this past week....
@NW-Economist What about the gun sales that happen in the parking lot? Maybe that's why he was checking out gun shows. If I were approached at a gun show by someone wanting to buy a gun I had for sale, there's nothing to keep me from selling it outside the gates. I would think people would want to know that this guy might show up there.
@justmyopinion @NW-Economist How many different "what if" scenarios can we put out there? Point is 99.9% (probably a full 100) of the sellers at the WAC shows want to see a legitimate/legal sale of firearms. If someone wants to buy a gun illegally there are far easier way to obtain one. People have been so brainwashed into thinking the "gun show loophole" is so huge a non-English speaking, juvenile in an orange jumpsuit could buy one because of it.
@aintno1special @justmyopinion The fact that you just want to argue gun sales loopholes is clear enough to me. I'll let you have the last word on the subject.
@justmyopinion OK maybe I need to be a little more clear to you. The original post that your original post was in reply to...was about what? My comprehension is fine.Â
I am still wondering when this search was done? Before they were killed or after?
@aintno1special @justmyopinion My original post had to do with selling guns to a possible murder in the parking lot of a gun show and that I thought people would want to know that he might be trying to do that. To me that doesn't make a statement about loopholes one way or the other.
@justmyopinion What was the original post about? Since the only "loophole" is between private seller/buyer that would equate to the same thing as a parking lot purchase correct?
@aintno1special @justmyopinion Where did I say anything about gun show loopholes? I merely stated he could buy a gun in the parking lot of a gun show. Maybe you need to work on your reading comprehension.
@justmyopinion Being you are commenting of gun show loopholes...makes one think you are looking to "close" them? The fact that the media is putting they found a search for gun shows (left out when the search was...or how they knew this guy did the searching...or that it is extremely difficult(can't say impossible because most everything is possible these days) for an illegal gun buyer to buy at a WA gun show) is a media spin IMO.
@aintno1special @justmyopinion Putting words in my posts? I don't recall saying anything about gun laws, one way or the other. I also don't see "the spin the media is putting out there", but then I'm not paranoid about the media either. Maybe you are...
@Watcher3 @aintno1special @justmyopinion @NW-Economist I have never been to these shows, so I can not speak on it. I have been to one in Enumclaw that put on by "collectors west" and I had to register the same way when I purchased a gun there.
@justmyopinion ...so you thinking making more laws regarding purchasing of a gun will really effect a criminal h**l bent of buying a gun?
And I agree with the posting his picture to any and all gun shows to let people know he may be looking for a gun, except that doesn't really seem to be the spin the media is putting out there.
@aintno1special @justmyopinion @NW-Economist No one knows what he's up to, so "what if" scenarios are endless. However, one thing they do seem to know is that he was searching for gun shows, I would think anyone trying to sell a gun would want to know he's out there. Also, with the millions of guns being bought and sold in the US, even if you're 99.9%% is correct, and we have no data to prove that it is, the .1%% leaves quite a few people who don't care.
@aintno1special @justmyopinion @NW-Economist WAC gun shows aren't the only gun shows. There are others on the peninsula and southern part of the state that aren't run by WAC.
@NW-Economist You don't have to be a WAC member to go to gun shows. I go to gun shows all the time and I'm not a member of anything
@hunkydorey247 @NW-Economist You do have to be a member to buy anything, which requires a background check. So if all you want to do is look at guns, knock yourself out.
@lakeview @dg54321Yes which makes it so much more laughable when you and the rest of the anti-freedom crowd keep going off about gun shows since they are the least likely point of failure here.Â
@dg54321 @hunkydorey247 @NW-Economist Anyone can simply walk outside and set up a sale. It happens all the time, just like people legally buying guns at the Seattle gun buy back.
@dg54321Â @hunkydorey247Â @NW-EconomistThat is not true, only the WAC shows at Puyallup and Monroe require it. eg Centralia does not: http://wesknodelgunshows.com/pages/rules.html Â
"NON-LICENSED RESIDENTS OF THIS STATE
...
MAY acquire from and dispose of personal firearms to non-licensed residents of the State. "
Dealers who are FFLs are of course always required to run a background check, gun show or not.
@NW-Economist Have you noticed the anti gun rhetoric ramping up to high gear right before the anti gun bills are due to be put to a vote? Manipulating the people into believing what they want them to. It's sickening.
@dg54321Â @NW-EconomistYeah, and before any more selective readers respond that you don't have to be a member to get into WAC gunshows, yes I know that, I had a typo in my post and the point I was making is that he can't BUY one there without being a member and going through a background check. The article says he was trying to BUY one, not to go visit and look at them....
