Microsoft to buy BigPark for undisclosed sum
By Associated Press
REDMOND, Wash. (AP) - Microsoft Corp. said Thursday it has agreed to buy the privately held online gaming company BigPark Inc. for an undisclosed sum.
BigPark's team of game developers will be brought into Microsoft gaming division to work on an exclusive Xbox 360 game, the company said. BigPark, based in Vancouver, British Columbia, has already been working with Microsoft on the game for the past year. BigPark Chief Executive and co-founder Hanno Lemke will report to Phil Spencer, general manager of Microsoft Game Studios. The company did not disclose any financial details of the agreement. Microsoft shares fell 53 cents, or 2.7 percent, to $19.26 in afternoon trading, amid broader market losses. |
