REDMOND, Wash. -- Microsoft on Wednesday laid off 800 more employees as part of
previously announced plans to cut thousands of jobs.
Company spokesman Lou Gellos said about 200 of the jobs cut Wednesday were in the company's Redmond-area offices.
Gellos said this is the last round of expected cuts, which totaled about 5,800 jobs this year.
The bulk of the layoffs happened May 5, when
notices were sent to 3,000 employees.
