Documents: Marine wife killed after refusing rough sex

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Investigators claim that a Marine's wife was killed after refusing to take part in sadomasochistic sex at a northern San Diego County home.
A judge on Wednesday released court documents, including search warrant affidavits.
In them, investigators say 22-year-old Brittany Killgore apparently didn't know about the sexual lifestyle of Marine Staff Sgt. Louis Perez when she accepted his invitation to a dinner cruise on April 13.
Investigators say they found an apparent "sex dungeon" along with whips, knives and sex toys at the Fallbrook home where Perez is accused of strangling Killgore.
The Camp Pendleton Marine and two women, Dorothy Maraglino and Jessica Lynn Lopez, have pleaded not guilty to murder.
Killgore had filed for divorce three days earlier from her husband, who was in Afghanistan.

How sad a whole Marine Staff Sgt. What a insult to the military!!
I'm not sure I've ever seen so much rampant, unwarranted speculation in a thread. The fact is a young woman is dead because she refused to participate in sexual torture. No other details are particularly pertinent. Nothing she could have done justified that.
"Killgore had filed for divorce three days earlier from her husband, who was in Afghanistan."
Â
...Ouch.
But let's promote "50 Shades".... sick.
The most hurtful part of all this is that all three defendants probably tortured and raped this young woman before murdering her. In my mind all three charged should be euthanized upon finding of guilt.
 @Rick4001CS And why should their deaths be painless?
I wonder how many other "dinner guests" they have had that have disappeared......
The 3 people involved in her death need to be let out of jail in front of her familys home& lets see how far they EASE ON DOWN THE ROAD.
Komo is all about celebrating perversity. Â often we find too late the consequences of our choices:

 @cheekygesturton what? I don't see any celebration. All I see is an article stating the alleged circumstances of a young woman's death. I don't understand what you are saying.
SIck puppy!
Killgore had agreed to go on a dinner cruise with Perez on the night of April 13 in exchange for his help in moving her belongings out of her Fallbrook apartment.

 @bagsofdirt Aw, that's so sweet.Â
Â
She filed for divorce, and went out on a date. Who knows if she met the freak murderer before she filed, but millions of people cheat. If she is a cheater, she's not deserving of being killed.
I agree with some of the other comments in that there is probably a lot more we don't know yet.
Â
But seriously, "one dead hosebag, No big deal."? What if this were someone you loved? She was somebody's child, sister, or friend, etc.........she isn't the murderer, she's the victim.
@countyclerk @bagsofdirt lets see how long it takes for the admin to delete the comment. I hope it isnt too long, that was pretty callous
Â
@JoeKing @countyclerk @bagsofdirt I flagged it too, and it looks like it was deleted.
 @northwestsurfer  @countyclerk  @bagsofdirt I flagged it. Â
Â
I can appreciate the fact that someone may not feel a sense of loss for a person that they didn't know, but referring to them in such derogatory terms is totally uncalled for.
I'll clarify. The poor dead girl Brittney is married to a Marine who is in Afghanistan. She had just filed for divorce from him, maybe because she had met SSgt. Louis Perez who is charged for her murder.
Â
What I don't understand is where the 2 other chicks come in who also got charged in her murder.
@Tattooed_Angel Probably felony murder. That charge allows anyone present during a crime when murder was committed to be charged with that offense. Its legal in the US and a handful of other countries, but very controversial.
 @Tattooed_Angel Maybe they took part, or watched - or just knew about it and failed to report it to police...
S&M usually involves more than just 2 participants.
 @OrcasThunder I wonldn't say S&M "usually" involves more than just 2 people. It could not not necessary and not majority.
 @1000 Part of the draw of the act is to have witnesses/participants. What kind of "power" is gained when no one is watching?
@1000 @OrcasThunder I would agree it does have three or more sometimems, I speak from the been there done that .
Â
What some people do to get their jollies.
This story is confusing. The headline sounds like a marine killed his wife because she didn't want "rough sex." Then it sounds like she was out with people partying on a boat and it turned out to be a dungeon with dangerous toys where she was strangled because she didn't want to play. Now the last paragraph says she filed for divorce three days earlier but apparently from her actual husband who is currently in Afghanistan.
Â
Is the whole thing tawdry or ?
 @fyrefawx "The headline sounds like a marine killed his wife because she didn't want "rough sex.""
The one that is one the story now simply states that she was a Marine's wife - Not that HE was involved.
@fyrefawx Sounds like a made-for-TV movie or a soap opera.
 @katiemcc  @fyrefawx No, sounds like a freak pervert at large, but it's OK because it's a Marine LOL
What in unfortunate name, makes me think of the latin phrase "nomen est omen"
according to wikipedia: this latin phrase translates to:Â the name is a sign , Thus, "true to its name".
Â
Tragic how Brittany married this freaky marine, Â RIP.
her ex-husband.
 @malainaÂ
No, they were still married...
 @alexcrowleyÂ
Brittany didn't marry the "freaky" Marine. Her husband is overseas fighting a war...
 @paperboy  @alexcrowley I stand corrected, thought I read they were married and was utterly confused why his name is Perez...still the name tells of her destiny.Â
This promiscuous young lady learned her lesson the hard way...
 @paperboy is it correct to say that you condone this murder as appropriate and deserving?
Â
Â
@Rick4001CS @paperboy I didn't read it that way.
 @paperboy Um, she's dead...no lesson learned. (I'm pretty sure you can't think/reason after you're dead) Just sayin'.
 @paperboy Really? She was somehow "asking for it" by going out with someone? I can't believe that in 2012 when a young woman is murdered, we still have to see BS like this coming from knuckle-dragging throwbacks, who assume that a woman who goes out "learns her lesson" by being strangled.
Â
A woman (or anyone) that is murdered when refusing a particular type of sex after a date did not "learn her lesson". It's a brutal crime committed by another savage that no one deserves, regardless of who they go out with or when it occurs. Crawl back under your medieval, misogynistic rock.
 @LykosÂ
Where did I say she was "asking for it". She files for divorce while her husband is overseas fighting a war, and 3 days later she goes home with some stranger. Â
Â
She's appears to be a promiscuous young lady that should have been more careful in choosing her date. May she rest in peace...
 @paperboy  @Lykos The divorce papers were filed while her husband was gone.  The marriage could have been basically over for awhile. Sometimes it takes lawyers awhile to get things drawn up.  However, if she felt the need to divorce him while he was gone, I'd be wondering if he was abusive towards her and she was afraid to do it while he was home.
Â
Either way, this was not a date (read other sources for more info) and it really doesn't matter if it was.
 @paperboy  @Lykos Yes, Lykos, because I'm sure he told her up front that he was into kinky sex and he would kill her if she didn't participate. She definitely should have been more careful. WHATEVER.
@paperboy @Lykos You really need to read the story as it is in the LA Times. It is much more comprehensive. She agreed to go to dinner with this guy because he said he would help her move her stuff out of the apartment she shaered with her husband of which she had filled for divorce. IT WAS NOT A DATE!!!! From all accounts, it appears that she was essentially lured into this situation by the dirtbag that killed her.
 @paperboy  You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. "Promiscuous" means having multiple sexual partners. There is nothing in the story to indicate this. Let me spell it out for you: she had a husband, presumably they'd had sex. She went on a dinner cruise with her alleged murderer, after filing for divorce, in gratitude for his helping her move. There's nothing to indicate she actually had sex with him, or was even going to. In reality, that was probably the intent...but she didn't like what she saw. It's because she wouldn't engage in sex that he allegedly killed her. So I see no promiscuity.
Â
Â
 @LocalLady  @paperboy:Also, refusal to have sex is pretty much the opposite of promiscuity.
 @paperboy:Â
You are *assuming* she went willingly - and you know what they say about assuming...
Â
She refused the sex - but what if she had ALSO refused to go willingly & was forced to go to the house? It DOES happen - ever hear the term "date rape"?
Â
You are painting her with everything except the Scarlett "A" - why not wait until more information becomes available? That is what an investigatrion is all about - getting the FACTS of the case, not simply going on assumptions.
 @paperboy  @Lykos "She's appears to be a promiscuous young lady that should have been more careful in choosing her date."
So...if she had chosen a better date, she would not be "promiscuous"? This might have been her first date after filing for the divorce - and at least she was honest in doing that, instead of just collecting the benefits.
 @paperboy  @Lykos Being married into the military is no easy thing. I doubt someone so young could have contemplated beforehand how lonely it would be to have their spouse so far away and for so long. Unlike you I'm willing to cut the poor deceased girl some slack, since she's no longer around to defend herself against hypercritical judgments by people who weren't there.
 @paperboy she's promiscuous because she went out on a date?  does that make every one who accepts an invitation to go out promiscuous, or only the women who are murdered by masochistic psychopaths?  just curious.
 @malaina  @paperboy Umm...I think you mean 'sadistic'.
 @malainaÂ
 While her husband is overseas fighting a war, she files for divorce. 3 days later she's dating some stranger, and goes home with him.  I think promiscuous is much kinder than other terms I can think of...
 @keeper  @FreeCoffeeNow!  @Jalharad  @paperboy  @malaina "most people just don't have the intestinal fortitude to call their friends out for their immoral behavior"
Ah! The Morality Block-watch...how utterly communistic of you, comrade snoop.
@paperboy @malaina You really need to read the story as it is in the LA Times. It is much more comprehensive. She agreed to go to dinner with this guy because he said he would help her move her stuff out of the apartment she shaered with her husband of which she had filled for divorce. IT WAS NOT A DATE!!!!  @FreeCoffeeNow!  @Jalharad  @paperboy  @malaina It sure it, most people just don't have the intestinal fortitude to call their friends out for their immoral behavior (and we can all agree that cheating on your spouse is immoral). The fact is, they were still married. She may have filed for divorce a couple days prior to this event, but they were not yet divorced.
 @keeper  @Jalharad  @paperboy  @malaina I understand your moral view, but in fact it IS excusable, isn't it? Almost all of us have people in our various circles who are not in fact very moral in their behaviors--and we tend to allow those behaviors to continue; to the point where now it's almost impossible to hold anyone in our society truly accountable in a real sense.
Military wives in the general sense is pretty wide. There are SOME military wives who cheat but not ALL. I was a military wife for 15 years and I can tell you there are plenty of wives who DO NOT cheat on their husbands.
 @paperboy Its too bad you dont have a grasp of what military life is like. How difficult multiple deployments on married couples can strain their relationships and lead to divorce. That there is generally a network of wives at each military base to support each other while their husbands are out of country, etc.This woman may have had no reason to think ill will toward SSG Perez's offer to come over for dinner. There can be platonic friendships, after all. Once she learned of his intention, thats when she tried to leave and instead was killed. There are good innocent people in the world, paperboy. She didnt dress promiscuously from the photos Ive seen on other sites. Be aware there is always more to the story than what the news will report.
 @paperboy  @malaina Her timing aside, she had the right to file for a divorce - and then was legally free to date other men.
Would it have been better to wait until he came home - and hand the papers to him as he stepped off the plane?
At least she didn't simply stay married and collect spousal benefits.
 @Jalharad  @paperboy  @malaina Hard, but not impossible. And not excusable.
Â
Of course, neither is murdering someone.
 @paperboy  @malaina Military wives are KNOWN for this. It is really hard to be away from your husband for 2-4 years and not wander off. At least she filed for divorce first, rather then just cheating on him.
