Attendants tiff causes United flight to return

MORRISVILLE, N.C. (AP) - An airport official says a squabble between two flight attendants forced a United Airlines flight bound for Chicago to return to Raleigh-Durham International Airport.
Airport spokeswoman Mindy Hamlin says Flight 1214 left Raleigh at 6 a.m. Wednesday. She says a call from the pilot to the tower at 6:40 a.m. suggested there had been an assault onboard, but it turned out to be a tiff between flight attendants.
Raleigh-Durham police determined that no blows were exchanged and no one was arrested.
United spokeswoman Christen David says the two employees were removed and the flight re-staffed. David said the Chicago-based airline is conducting an internal review and that the argument was not physical.
Some passengers were placed on other flights, and David said United would compensate passengers for their inconvenience.

More than likely this was not United airlines but United Express. Wake up people - the majority of flights the major airlines you have come to know are flown by small commuter airlines with the logo slapped on the side of smaller aircraft. This info is available when you book your flight if you read the small print. The crews are not hired by major airlines and DO NOT have the same qualifications. Imagine if your employer hired barely qualified people to do your job, paid them less and replaced half of your co-workers with them. Hello! This is a huge issue for flight crews of majors that are highly trained and have had 45% pay cuts and lost their retirement as the majors file for bankruptcy on the backs of their 30 year employees. You are not hearing this on the evening news, trust me. My husband has flown for United for over 25 years. The next time you book a flight you deserve to know who your flight crew is!? DO you care?

Did somebody say "You're fired"?
Â
Sounds like the pilot overreacted.
What's inconvenient is preventing the passengers from seeing who won.
Flight attendants are actually zombies that look human but age at a spectacular rate due to the ultraviolet radiation exposure at altitude. Some are over 120 years old.  This is a fact, so no need to Google.

@Sid Vishess I always wondered about that. Thanks for clearing that up.
Flight vouchers for everyone. And maybe a free sandwich.
Why didn't the air marshals shoot them?
"Don't make me turn this plane around!"Â
@Pony L. My dad's line was always "If I have to stop this car..." Well, I was never too bright as a kid and one day I made him angry enough that he stopped. Some lessons stick with you forever. Never make dad stop the car is one of them
 @Pony L. Good one.
So much for the "friendly skies". Â Â Â 1982 United Airlines Commercial - YouTube
I would have been royally 'tiffed' if I was on that flight and I had problems because of this. Ridiculous!
If it had been passengers, they would have been charged with felonies.

@caphillkid I had to ponder this a bit, and I fully agree. There should be SERIOUS repercussions for causing major delays/issues with flights over what would amount to petty workplace issues.
WOW, you said something I agree with. There is a disturbance in the force.Â

They should have been charged with crimes and been shamefully hauled away in cuffs.
