Cops: Teens got lap dances at party for 16-year-old boy
SOUTH GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (AP) - Exotic dancers performed lap dances on teenagers at a boy's surprise 16th birthday party in an upstate New York village, police said, and investigators were trying to determine whether any organizer of the celebration committed a crime.
South Glens Falls Police Chief Kevin Judd said the investigation began after people concerned about the Nov. 3 party at the Spare Time bowling alley told authorities about racy photos that had been posted on social networking sites.
At least one of the images shows a scantily clad, tattooed woman clinging upside down to a seated teen as others look on.
"Several kids at the party got lap dances," Judd said. "We have a lot of people to talk to."
The names of the boy and his parents haven't been released.
Saratoga County District Attorney James Murphy said Thursday that investigators were trying to determine who hired the dancers and if the alley served alcohol to any of the partiers.
He said there were 80 adults and teens in a room where floor-to-ceiling windows were masked off with brown paper while the two dancers from a company called "Tops In Bottoms" performed.
"Whether it got beyond that, we don't know," Murphy said. "We don't know about sex acts."
The teens and dancers aren't targets, he said, but child endangerment is among the potential charges faced by any adults who organized the party. Also, the bowling alley's liquor license could be revoked if it knowingly allowed the exotic dancing or served alcohol to anyone under age, he said.
A man who answered the phone at the alley Thursday said he had been told to refer questions to the police.
In addition to endangering, Murphy said there could be charges of unlawfully dealing with a child if kids were served alcohol and misdemeanor sexual abuse if it's learned either of the dancers was touched through their skimpy clothing.
Tops In Bottoms didn't immediately return a message.

What a party, being a mom I know my son would love to go to a party like this. I know that if he ever did my jaw would drop to the ground but my husband would be giving high fives.Â
I'm sure thes boys were fully aware of what was going on and had no problem with it. Let em have fun! One lap dance isn't going to teach them not to respect women.
What a great way to teach young men to respect all women. NOT.
@Peregrine Girls do not make it hard for a boy to look at them as a sex object. Boys will have as much respect for a girl, as a girl has for herself.Â
If no sexual act was performed-- no problem?
Sounds harmless. I bet the kids had a blast.
lucky kids...good for them...
As a matter of fact... I could use a lap dance right about NOW!
Man, I had such a BORING 16th B-Day compared to this. 2 thumbs up to the parents!!
These are the kind of "parents" that will never hold their child responsible for any wrong doing, because THEY are not responsible. "My little boy is a good kid" they said as he's hauled off to jail for murder.
@Traveler The more I think about your comment the more I think the parents did great. They stay connected with their kids. If you run some moralist BS on your almost adult offspring they will ignore you, cut you out from their lives, and you as a parent will be at the receiving end. So no, I complement the parents, smart move.
 @Traveler what wrong-doing?
@Traveler So lap dances are a gateway crime to murder now?
its so bull that the parents or organizers could be facing charges of sexual abuse or child endangerment. The boys were 16 not 10. Its not right that someone get charged for this, goes to show how messed up our justice system is.
Round everyone up and place them in plastic bubbles that will keep em' all safe... Ha!
@Funky-Munky reminds me of the full body condom in Naked Gun
Now that's a SURPRISE party.
I know what boys like
I know what boys want
I know what boys like
I know what's on their mind
These poor boys, they will now be scarred for life. Bad, bad parents!! Ok thats all I can say with a straight face. Personally i think these parents are smart, everyone knows what teen boys are like, i would rather this happened in a controlled enviroment then at a party the boys could have had without any adults.Â
@MomOf2 That is kinda what I was thinking! While the parents will probable get society's parenting fail award.......the boys will be teenage hero's at school!
some darn lucky 16 year olds!!!!!  this is such a non-story
I wouldn't say a crime has been committed, but if you can be charged and booked into county jail for making STUPID choices then yes this was a bad choice!! Grow up and celebrate with respect!! These lap dancers should have known better, but again all any one sees these days is the mighty dollar!! Moral is out the window BROKE!
18 AND OVER AT LEAST!
@reelin21 why? whats so wrong with exotic dancing? So long as there was no sexual acts involved, then its no worse then watching porn...which is easily done.
"In addition to endangering, Murphy said there could be charges of unlawfully dealing with a child if kids were served alcohol and misdemeanor sexual abuse if it's learned either of the dancers was touched through their skimpy clothing."......through their clothing???? So if they had on clothing, I don't think that's classified as being a stripper
Where were the parents?
@Harry reems right there, posting pictures on FB in realtimeÂ
"Saratoga County District Attorney James Murphy said Thursday that investigators were trying to determine who hired the dancers and if the alley served alcohol to any of the partiers."
Â
So...just because there was a stripper present for a 16 year old's party in a public place, that automatically means alkie was served to kids? Good grief!
@DMT Well they didn't say what the strippers looked like.
"10" for originality!
too bad I was not "endangered" when I was 16...
THIS STORY IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT PICS.
well hmm...
Talk about a coming out party.
Who cares?
@fabalis1  You cared enough to comment on the story. No telling if you actually read it or not.
The privileged few.
I was deprived as a child. My no good parents NEVER hired strippers for any of my birthdays.
I guarantee that most of these boys are going to look back on that day as the best party they have ever been to.
If that was my kid that's about the least concerning thing he could be doing with a bunch of his friends.
Child endangerment for hiring a stripper? And which child is being endangered?
@DMT Well it's a gosh darn good thing they weren't serving "super sized" sodas...or else they'd be in REAL trouble.
