In Connecticut, Biden urges action on gun control
DANBURY, Conn. (AP) - Vice President Joe Biden is trying to rally support for the administration's proposals to curb gun violence, saying there will be a moral price to pay for inaction.
Biden is speaking Thursday at a conference in Danbury, Conn., just a few miles from the scene of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. He says that America has changed its views of gun control since the Dec. 14 massacre of 26 people inside the Newtown school.
Other speakers, including the parents of a 7-year-old girl killed at Sandy Hook, urged Congress to honor the memories of the victims with strong action.
Meanwhile, Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy announced he wants to immediately ban high-capacity ammunition magazines, require background checks for the transfer of firearms and expand the state's assault weapons ban.

@Mike Well, Biden said that even if you know how to use an assault rifle, you still will have trouble hitting anything with it. So I guess he must feel that anyone in the military who uses one must be useless. I'd love to see Biden try to convince our soldiers to trade in their ARs for double barreled shotguns.
Will any of the people here who think that background checks or other measures like bans on types will do anything please watch this and tell me what you do about criminals like this who openly say they don't care about the laws you want to pass?

@Getov Mylon Universal background checks have extremely strong support nationwide. Unfortunately, the Democrats aren't smart enough to pass this piecemeal. They are going to combine background checks with a scary sounding "ban" on certain guns and a "ban" on high capacity magazines.Â

I am honestly glad that this is the guy Obama tapped to go after gun control. The guy can't open his mouth without saying something ridiculous...I am sure his shotgun advice will go far in helping him prove his gun control point. Just add that to the statement he made regarding the lack of time and man power the administration has to enforce the issues found on the current background checks...and we have ourselves a real winner. (and by that I mean us 2nd supporting folks)

The car?...either way kind of a silly comment to be making for someone trying to impose gun safety.(regulations)
