Mom gets 15 years in autistic son's tub drowning
SAN DIEGO (AP) - A San Diego mother has been sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for drowning her 4-year-old autistic son in a bathtub.
U-T San Diego says 37-year-old Patricia Corby received the sentence Monday, about a month after giving a tearful guilty plea to murder.
Several distraught relatives spoke to Corby before the sentencing, including the boy's father Duane Corby who called her "a loathsome person." After several angry family comments she moaned "stop, stop."
On March 31, Corby drove to a police station and told authorities she had killed her son, Daniel, by filling a bathtub and holding the boy under water until he died. His still-wet body was wrapped in a blanket in her back seat.
She says she also tried to drown herself but failed.

This person sounds like quite a piece of work. Â I don't think she needs to be on this planet anymore.
She should have just left. What was the point in killing a beautiful boy, it doesn't matter that he was autistic, every child is special and should be loved
I'd say if this woman wanted to drown herself we help her-
@MomOf2 I would have agreed with you if she hadn't killed her son. However being a parent myself I feel like people who hurt or kill their kids do not deserve a 2nd chance regardless of what's going on in their head. If you don't want to be a parent there a lot of things you can do besides killing your child.Â
