Woman who glued daughter's hands to wall faces life term

DALLAS (AP) — A doctor has testified that a Texas mother who glued her 2-year-old daughter's hands to a wall also beat the toddler so badly that she suffered significant brain trauma and bleeding inside her skull.
Elizabeth Escalona pleaded guilty July 12 to injury to a child. The 23-year-old mother is being sentenced Monday. She faces up to life in prison. A state district judge will decide her punishment.
The doctor showed photos of the beaten child.
The toddler was in a coma for two days after the Sept. 7, 2011, incident. Police records show the toddler's siblings told investigators their mother repeatedly kicked the girl in the stomach and hit her with various objects before gluing her hands to the wall.
Police say Escalona was mad about potty training problems

Blank void shark eyes. Wonder where the sperm donor / donors were when all this was going on.?
hope prison is nice to you ! i really hope you make it out.poor defencless child.glad, we are not neighbors.
At least we know justice will be done, its Texas not one of the nanny states...
Why?!?!?!Â
Â
Why do people do such horrible things to their children?!?!? I will never understand.
Â
My heart goes out to that little girl. I hope the authorities find a good family for her.
Jeremiah 17:9 âThe heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?
I just have been unable to understand how anybody could treat children this way. It is totally beyond my comprehension. She is another example of someone who should never breathe a free breath again.  With that out of the way, my heart goes out to that poor child.  The little baby has nothing to relate to but pain and suffering. I hope that she is able to recover physically, and that somehow she can get the love and care to heal inside as well.
I think she should be fused to a tree with her arms pointed outward, paper mache'd to match the tree, painted by a professional scene artist and then have apples and leaves hung from her arms, left in the middle of the woods.
Â
See, that would confuse the heck out of her, too.

@wynooheeman Take deep breaths...think calm thoughts. OOOOOMmmmmmmm. Ooooooom.
@wynooheeman Clue to not being illegal;  first name, Elizabeth. No mention about status in any news report. Â
@wynooheeman sheesh...make everything about the politics why don't you, instead of concentrating on the actual story.
@dentalgirl57 your making my point thank you.
What a tool! You should live in the South.
@factchekr so your bigoted response is that all people from the south are what?
I have to agree with factchekr. Your grammar, spelling and run on sentences show just how illiterate you are.
Yep them damn brown people are destroying the planet. Going to have to declare war on Mexico pretty soon I guess. Amazing amount of racism in this country now a days. @wynooheeman
@wynooheeman I cannot mark your words because I will ruin my computer screen if I highlight them with my marker.
Wow. How about gluing the mothers hands to a couple of cell phones for a year.
Elizabeth Escalona should be euthanized.
Awful lot of people that shouldn't be having children. Thats why abortions and birth control should be covered by the tax payers. Its far better to keep these kinds of people from having children than having to deal with their mess after they've had children.

Another good christian I see. That would rather have government and tax payers deal with these kind of people after the fact rather than just do the right thing and give them a choice. Or is that this was another brown person? @wynooheeman  @Blindman
@wynooheeman I think you meant "now" not "know".... then again every thing you are writing is wrong.Â
Some people just should not be parents. On the advise of my boys' doctor, I didn't even try to toilet train them; I waited until they decided to do it on their own. It saved me a lot of aggravation.
@Waif Same with my son, one day he woke up and decided he wanted to be a big boy- only 1 accident since that day and that was months later at night- wish I had done the same with his older sister lol.
Glue her hands to the wall and not allow her to be able to reach a toilet. Unglue her hands only to clean up her mess and then glue them again to the wall. NO PAROLE! I hope these children can find a loving home.
@mustang sally And why wouldn't you just hose her down rather than unglue her?
I DO hope since this is in Texas that the sentencing judge WILL have the fortitude to sentence that ********* to life, and hopefully without parole!
