Secretary of state faints, sustains concussion

WASHINGTON (AP) - Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, who skipped an overseas trip this past week because of a stomach virus, sustained a concussion after fainting, the State Department said Saturday.
The 65-year-old Clinton, who's expected to leave her job soon, was recovering at home after the incident last week and is being monitored by doctors, according to a statement by aide Philippe Reines.
No further details were immediately available.
President Barack Obama telephoned his top diplomat Saturday to wish her well, a White House official said.
The State Department said Clinton was dehydrated because of the virus, fainted and sustained a concussion. She will continue to work from home in the week ahead and looks forward to returning to the office "soon," the statement said.
The Senate Foreign Relations Committee said it won't hear from Clinton as planned at a Thursday hearing into the Sept. 11 attack against a U.S. diplomatic outpost in Benghazi, Libya, that killed four Americans, including the U.S. ambassador. The House Foreign Affairs Committee also said Clinton would no longer give scheduled testimony at its hearing Thursday on Libya.
Senior State Department officials William Burns and Thomas Nides are to take Clinton's place at both hearings.
Clinton's aides on Saturday informed the Senate committee chairman, Sen. John Kerry, about her health, and the Massachusetts Democrat "insisted that given her condition, she could not and should not appear" as planned, said Kerry spokeswoman Jodi Seth. Obama is expected to nominate Kerry to succeed Clinton.
Clinton backed out of a trip to North Africa and the Persian Gulf on Monday because she was sick. She caught the virus during a recent visit to Europe.
The former first lady is known for her grueling travel schedule and is the most traveled secretary of state, having visited 112 countries while in the job.

Seems to me most women really look great when getting older, this woman is just plain UGLY and she's not that old. Terrible at her job and Bubba is foaming at the mouth for a new position with the Greatest Liar of All, Obama!
You have to admire Mrs. Clinton for her desire to fulfill her term as Secretary of State as she quietly pursues treatment. Some of the treatments can really be hard on the human body. Our hearts and prayers go out to you wishing for a recovery.
Get lost hillary doggy.
As a conservative, gun totin', libertarian, I have to admire Hillary for her job well done during her stay as SOS. I hope she gets better and moves on with her life.
Â
As for the rest of you and the comments above, I'm embarrassed....
You're a hard worker Hillary. Thank you for all that you do. Get well soon.Â
Ignore all of the rude comments from those who sit on their butts and add nothing to our society.
The right wing fools here need to take a good, hard look at their mental faculties. Â Everything, and I mean everything, is a conspiracy to them.
Â
Get help. Â And grow hearts while you're at it.
 @TehHawt your busted Hillary

 @Ronn Tool.
 @TehHawt Hey in your picture, do your fingers touch???
Shes trying to hide her incompetence with all these phony excuses. She is really hiding something, we deserve to know what happened in Benghazi, anyways she needs to get out of there shes to white, old, fat, and a liar.
Kerry is next in line I really wonder how his comments during Iraq impacted our troops over there and now hes going to be our Sec of State. Get Colin Powell to do it
 @Ronn Oh look, a subhuman response by a paranoid conspiracy theorist.
 @TehHawt  @Ronn Who doesn't even know the difference between "to" and "too"...
 @TehHawt You Poor thing. obviously a arrogant elitist and a superhuman.
 @Ronn Troll harder, doofus.
Sounds like it's time to retire you old gal...  me too.
Â
Hope you recover soon...
Maybe she's expecting :) She's been looking that way for a while now.
She has not looked good at all lately. I think she has more going on then a stomach virus...
 @Grumpa
 Unfortunately, at her age both stomach and colon cancer are very real likelihoods, and could manifest with symptoms similar to a stomach virus. I would certainly hope that isn't the case. Cancer is a horrible disease I wouldn't wish on anyone.
 @Mikeftm  @Grumpa Maybe she has just got things so screwed up it makes her sick. Shes likely trying to save her self for the 2016 presidential election. She cant defend the policies that lead to our people being killed in Benghazi. If she would testify she will not be able to answer the questions without defaming herself, its plain and simple.
No worries Hill. Bill will be there for you.
Â
Look! Pigs can fly !!
Comes out of the concussion then realizes she is a flaming liberal married to a cheating, perjuring rapist.Â
Â
So she hits herself in the head again to go back to the happy place.
 @pbs7mm This specimen is the prime example why this country is in the shape that is in
 @Larry*X*K  @pbs7mm Indeed.

 @Biggg Donnn You are a disgusting excuse for a human being.
 @Biggg Donnn Do your parents know that you're on the internet?Â
@lakeview Perhaps you would be interested in our Conspiracy Theory: The Sandy Hook shooting was a setup by the White House to gain support for banning guns. They picked out this weirdo LOOZeer and a Fed posing as terrorist bribed Lanza with some whatever promises to do the deed. They got him the guns and had a co-conspirator kill him and his "mother" after the fact to hide the real truth. All the required phony records emplaced to support the investigation. It's just now coming out that nobody at the school, where his "mother" was supposedly a teacher, knew her.  The White House is bunch of ruthless mofos who will do anything to advance their agenda. Think Fast & Furious......
Â
 @virtual anomaly  @Biggg  @lakeview "Congratulations you take the cake in this forum."
As long as it's the cake of De-Con...
 @Biggg Donnn  @lakeview
 Bucking for sponsorship money from Alcoa and Reynolds, are you?
 @Biggg Donnn  @lakeview Wow! You should change your screen name to "empty headed Donnn".
 @Biggg Donnn  @lakeview LMAO dude keep the great comedy coming
@Biggg Donnn @lakeview Wow, first a classless comment, now one that displays stupidity! Congratulations you take the cake in this forum.
Benghazi Benghazi Benghazi

Just keep saying it Republicans. Eventually someone will hear you over the voices of the 4,500 American kids that haunt you and who died for Bush's religious war in Iraq.Â
 @lakeview yes but bush was never indicted for stealing 43 trillion from the treasury, having fake records, 3 aliases, and a website dedicated to all his lies obamalies.net Here read up stupid

 @Crook Ofraud Thank you for showing your IQ of 66. Now go back to bed with mommy, she is cold.
 @Crook Ofraud  @lakeview You believe everything you read? They can't post lies on the internet then? If it is written it must be true? Double your dose dude, your paranoia is showing.......
 @lakeview One bombing mission is WWII typically could be 1000 aviators lives.  Just one mission of dozens, if not hundreds each day.
Â
Have you any clue what the cost of freedom is or are you a total mental vacuum? It was not just republicans that had the brass to protect your lazy fat backside. So grow up, those people that gave it all did so for you, not just those much better than you. And THEY WERE VOLUNTEERS THAT BELIEVED IN THE AMERICAN IDEAL AND PROTECTING THE INNOCENTS. WHAT WERE YOU DOING?
Â
I think cesspool-view would be more appropriate.  You make me want to puke.
 @pbs7mm  @lakeview We are in no way whatsoever fighting for freedom today. We aren't defending it either. Replace the word "freedom" with "interests."
 @pbs7mm  @lakeview You know what?  Some of us hate the Republican fed military industrial complex and useless wars because they took out so many brave Americans who paid the ultimate price serving their country.  And beyond those, so many disabled and damaged forever.Â
Â
You, sir, do not have a registered trademark on patriotism.
@pbs7mm @lakeview What are you gonna defend Vietnam too? American imperialism (offensive) is not the same as defending this country, just creates more enemies and puts us at more danger.
Oh I served alright. Not only in Vietnam but also Korea. You bet the civilian population supported the VC. It was either that or die, and those who didn't support them did just that. As far as civilians go, the VC were not the North Vietnamese Army (communists), they were CIVILIANS. Some worked for us during the day, then shot rockets at us at night. You are right that we shouldn't have been there. The Vietnamese people should have been fighting their own battle against communism, not us.
 @pbs7mm  @virtual anomaly  @lakeview Can I have skin in the game if I buried friends?  Can I have skin in the game if my brother was disabled while in service of this country?  Pretty please, sir?
@Joy Johnson @johnbe Oh are you gonna hit me with the old "there are no rules in love and war" line? It doesn't take Ghandi to see that what we did in Vietnam was wrong.
 @virtual anomaly  @johnbe "is no way to conduct a war, no matter how noble our reason for being there."..........
Â
what is the "right'Â way to conduct a war then?
@johnbe  "If the US were Imperialistic as you say, we'd have won that war and taken the country."
Â
We tried, didn't work. Free-fire zones, where you can kill anybody including civilians, dropping more bombs on a tiny peninsula than we did in all of WWII (over 7 million tons, only 2 million tons in WWII), and destroying eco-systems (by dropping poison over the forest) with the intent to starve-out the population, is no way to conduct a war, no matter how noble our reason for being there.Â
Â
Which by the way, wasn't noble, because the civilians of the country did not ask for our help, rather they supported the viet cong, and our military brass knew it, which lead to the free-fire zones. Estimates put the CIVILIAN death toll at about 2 million. True some were killed by the viet cong, but most came from the US military. I've heard it said that the U.S. dropped the equivalent of a two-ton bomb for every person in Vietnam.
Â
The Vietnam War has failed the test of history, even the Gulf of Tonkin incident has been proven to be a fabrication. If you did in fact serve, I thank you, but I have always, and will always disagree with our being there, and the way we conducted ourselves once there.
I'll defend Vietnam. In fact, I did. Defended the people against the voracity of the Viet MF Cong. Murder and Communism went hand in hand over there. One committed by the other. If the US were Imperialistic as you say, we'd have won that war and taken the country. Anything less results in loss. Imperialistic? I don't think so, and the rest of the world is damned lucky we're not.
Please stop the tired line of "if you didn't serve, you have no right to question foreign policy". That's just BS. It's like saying that if you've never worked for law enforcement then you have no right to question what is considered criminal.
@pbs7mm @lakeview And thank you for that, I'm sure your heart was in the right place. Doesn't mean our generals and commander-in-chief have the same grand moralities. I don't blame the enlisted men, but Vietnam is clearly a scar on our history. The most merciless bombing of a small strip of land in the history of the world.
 @lakeview Yes, shame on Republicans for demanding answers and accountability. The mistakes of our previous President have nothing to do with the way the current administration handled the attack in Benghazi.Â
 @NewsJunky  @lakeview Republicans don't want answers and accountability.  No, you want to do whatever it takes to take out Obama.  Period.  Just admit to your rabid partisanship and move on.
I would gladly admit to that, but there's a little problem: It simply isn't the case. I don't care who is in office. When a sitting President, and/or those in his administration, made decisions that resulted in the deaths of American citizens, I demand answers. I felt the same when Bush was in office. The fact that you accuse me of "rabid partisanship" only makes you look like the true partisan. Are you satisfied with the answers the public has been given regarding the attack in Benghazi? If so, your partisanship is screaming loud and clear. We should never place blind faith in our elected leaders, as you clearly have. Instead, we must demand that our elected officials are accountable to those who elected them.
