Shocking 'napalm girl' photo from Vietnam War turns 40
Vietnam Napalm Girl 40th
In this March 29, 2012 photo, a copy of the Pulitzer Prize winning photograph by Associated Press photographer Huynh Cong "Nick" Ut is held at the place he took it 40 years ago in Trang Bang, Tay Ninh province, Vietnam. The iconic black-and-white image communicated the horrors of the Vietnam War in a way words could never describe and contributed to its end. But behind the camera, it also brought the wounded girl together with the young photographer, and it came to define her life both as a curse and ultimately as a savior.
