Sign of spring: Daylight saving time starts Sunday

WASHINGTON (AP) - Ushering in the bloom of spring, it's time to set the clocks forward for daylight saving time.
At 2 a.m. local time Sunday, daylight saving time arrives with the promise of many months ahead with an extra hour of evening sunlight.
You lose an hour of sleep, but make sure to turn the clock ahead - spring forward - before heading to bed Saturday night to avoid the panic of a late rise.
It's also a good time to put new batteries in warning devices such as smoke detectors and hazard warning radios.
Some places don't observe daylight saving time. Those include Hawaii, most of Arizona, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam and the Northern Marianas.
Daylight saving time ends Nov. 3.

Do we still need this, other countries already dumped it long time ago ?Â
Bring on the longer days and the warmer weather. YEE HA!!
ANOTHER STUPID LAW. Nothing stopping a business from changing their opening or closing hours without forcibly making all conform.
I am so ready to have longer days. Today was a much needed spirit-lifter. Bring it on!
We should just pass a law that extends daylight and move the quadrennial February 29th to August 32nd.
As much as I love my sleep, I also like the switch to DST. Here in the Northwest, that means its still light 9:30 or 10 PM in the early summer. I love being able to go for an after dinner walk in the light. I also like that now my mother in PHX will be on the same time as we are.
I like falling back better.
The only good thing about this is. Spring is just around the corner and summer is not far behind it.Â
This is such an outdated practice and causes havoc everywhere because some places do it, some don't. Time to stop.Â
Let's spring forward 1/2 hour and then just leave it there!
