WWII vet kills would-be burglar with single shot

Last year, I trained a lifelong anti-gunner, who is a lifelong friend of mine, on how to shoot firearms. I never dreamed that he would ever acquire a gun, but he was given some bad recommendations before contacting me.  I am a .45 ACP man, myself, but I knew that this round would deafen him inside his house, and he is into music, and always has been. The last thing he needs is severe tinnitus. So, I set him up with a Ruger .22 LR with future plans to upgrade if he feels the need.  I am also a Distingusihed Life Member of NRA.

 

He was a "natural," always hitting the black in the center, and frequently hitting the X. We practiced at 21 feet, but he was able to blow the center of the target out at 25 yards!  Nearly everyone underestimates the .22 LR. as a defense round.  He can sleep now, but is always "right-reaction-ready."

Shouldn't this be a minimum of home invasion rather than burglary?  The occupant of the dwelling was certainly home at the time of forced entry.

Yep! During the big war the army boys were taught to not waste their ammo. Looks like this old man still remembers what the sarge told him. While I feel just a little teeny bit bad for the crooks family. I love this story!

Look Here, America!  Just a bit of true instant accountability demanded justifiably by a regular American who is only capable of one regular vote that has the same power as any other.  No 'superpowered' ruling class Congressman's  vote required for one American to demand accountability from another.  No Supreme Court 'superpowered' ruling class Justice's vote needed.  We got big problems in America, but they are ALL the same damn issue.  No accountability.  But big businesses are corrupting everything, we all been whining for decades.  No they haven't.  People are.  The living entity 'rights' of businesses needs to DIE.  Why?  Because an Article of Incorporation can't even be legally imprisoned for the living entity criminality it has come to represent due to the actions of the ACTUAL living entities running it.  But we must prepare for a 2012 election where once again, the GOP will try to take the popular vote away from the people again with "electorate college" 'superpowered' votes as in the Cheney presidency and three others in our history.  Except that no electorate college student ever asked any American who they wanted for President if they weren't trying to sell their 'superpowered' vote.  I have no idea who the names of these punk criminal wannabes think they are, but in America, we are a DEMOCRATIC Republic with a government based in Federated Departments which are SUPPOSED to be managed by the actions of our Legislative body, our Funding body, and our appointed Secretaries, who ALL are supposed to have ONE MANAGER, no matter their views or backgrounds.  'Superpowered' long term Congressmen want to verbally assault or get a President of ANY background spit on?  Try it standing next to me once.  I'd probably instantly demand accountability with physical intervention not typically allowed to police, laugh my asz off in prison for twenty, come out and draw 300 million You Tube hits on my first public statement.  WE CAN get this nation under control, but only by holding ourselves accountable.  That means ALL of us HUMAN AMERICANS.  No more 'executive privilege'.  Because YOU ain't 'superpowered' either, Mr. President.  Your next vote is ONLY equal to mine, Sir.  No more IMMUNITY FROM PROSECUTION AND DISCOVERY PROCESSES, ALL CONGRESSPERSONS, SENATORS, DIRECTORS, SECRETARIES, JURISTS, AND EXECUTIVES.  Your clear publicly recorded behaviors initiating your continuing 'immunity' self proclamation are both illegal and treasonous acts against the rights of the people.  THE PEOPLE have the right to grant immunity, but you say you are the embodiment of the people, right?  EXCEPT that not even a local District Attorney ever asked any citizen, "Who deserves immunity in this case"?  Usurped power owned by the people.  A political refugee facing a death sentence DESERVES Asylum, Sanctuary, and Immunity from Prosecution for crossing our border illegally, but nothing else.  Base criminality is unworthy of American granted Immunity.  Get the criminals to turn on themselves some proper way for a change, and always demand true accountability.  But inner city gangland youths are out of control and poor white child Lloyd Maxwell is also destined for a life of crime now, American 'parents' whine.  Earl, if you read this, fact check me on this one please.  It was hot on the heels of WWII when all of those wise old statements like 'a stitch in time saves nine' began disappearing from our various cultures, on public business walls, and in every editorial article written for news.  And they are all so cliche' now that you'll see them in Reader's Digest, but usually nowhere else in regular print.  Our children now have no wisdom and no moral compass...and no accountability.  We sit on butt and request that our young volunteers fight and die in other lands for our "RIGHTS".  While we in turn have done so little in these 11 war years to return that sacrifice to them with DEEDS showing the ENTIRE WORLD that we do indeed deserve these rights.

Thank you Earl, for being the real anchor of our Greatest Generation, and I apologize for this impossibly longwinded statement about a First Principle you likely already know by heart.  Now I gotta take my three honor students out for ice cream.

Someone should organize a donation to Mr. Jones to replace his .22lr that was confiscated and attempt to give him back the money that was stolen from him; I would surely donate to that cause, but I do not have any of the social mediums to arrange it

Kentucky needs to toughen its laws. In many states those two would be facing at least 2nd-degree murder charges -- perhaps even 1st-degree murder. Reason: they took part in a crime involving loss of life.

 

Of course, if Mr. Jones had lived on the latte-sipping Left Coast he would be the one facing murder charges, and the surviving dirtbags would receive months of taxpayer-funded counseling for dealing with their tragic loss.

Being a criminal is dangerous business. I'm glad our 92 year friend had a gun since he certainly couldn't have duked it out with those 3 guys.
