Woman says she found razor in bag of Jolly Rancher candy

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) - A Northern California mother is raising safety concerns after saying she found an old, rusty razor blade in a bag of Jolly Rancher candy.
Amy Hu says she bought the bag of Crunch N Chew candy at Santa Clara Safeway, and after eating a couple of pieces pulled out a dull 3-inch blade, partially wrapped in white tape.
KGO-TV reports that candy maker Hershey has not issued a recall. The company issued a statement saying Hershey believes it was an isolated case and accidental.
The package was completely sealed and the wrapper indicates it was manufactured in Brazil. Hershey did not immediately return a phone message and email seeking details Friday.
Hu says she was offered three replacement bags of candy. But as the mother of 1-year-old and 5-week-old girls, she says she is not seeking compensation but rather assurance that the candy is safe.

Wow - someone who's not suing for heartache and whatever.
I doubt this happened at the manufacturing plant. Seems you could get a razor into a bag and still make it look sealed.Â
Probably just a prank. We used to toss green M&Ms in while packing frozen peas...Â
Why are they making candy overseas? Â This is very ridiculous!! Â Since Obama took office more things are made overseas!!!
@None lol it has nothing to do with Obama, it has everything to do with supply and demand. You demand a cheaper option so the business seeks that cheaper option which usually ends in outsourcing. so in the end, you as the consumer are directly at fault ;)
@None If everything was made in the United States, then we would be paying more for the same product.  Items that we buy are cheap because we outsourced them so we don't have to to pay for medical insurance, overtime or other benefits.Â
@3rase I personally, will spend more money for products made in the U.S.A. I'll promote small business, and be proud of the country I live in. It's not the fault of the PEOPLE that our government and it's minions are more worried about profit than the health of our country, it's the fault of the government. Want to hit Obama and Romney in the sack? BUY AMERICAN, and cut the profit margin they get from outsourcing American jobs overseas. While you're at it, pull your money out of the "big banks" and put it into a credit union. We CAN make a difference people. By doing a few simple things, we can MAKE the government look past their "special interests", and look at US. THEY work for US.....not the other way around. Remember that.
@LoudNoises @3rase I agree 100%, spend alittle more and buy american made products! keep the cash flow in our own country and help OURSELVES.
@None ...because associated production costs + large volume shipping is less expensive then producing them here in the states
@None That is one of the dumbest comments I have ever read on here.Â

Here, NONE, why don't you read this and then think twice about trying to spread lies?
Republicans are disgusting.
@3Tree Both parties are a joke and are ruining America, case you hadn't noticed.
