MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) - A wandering pig tied up traffic on Interstate 75 in Cobb County Thursday morning, one week after a baby zebra was found wandering along the same highway.

Marietta Police spokesman Mark Bishop said the pig apparently came off a small truck that was traveling southbound about 9:30 a.m. Commuters slowed down to gawk at it, creating a traffic backup.

Traffic was temporarily halted to rescue the pig, which sustained minor injuries. Bishop said the pig was tied up to keep it from receiving more injuries until animal control officers arrived to get it. He said no accidents were caused by the pig.

Last week, a baby zebra was found injured on I-75 south of Atlanta.

Noah's Ark, an animal rescue center near Locust Grove, says they believe the male zebra, estimated to be 2 to 3 months old, fell from a truck and then was hit by another vehicle. The center got a call April 8 that the zebra was eating grass along an I-75 exit.

An official at the rescue center says the zebra is healing, but faces a long road to full recovery. The identity of the zebra's owner remains a mystery.
