Chestnut eats record 191 wings in 12 minutes

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Organizers of the National Buffalo Wing Festival say competitive eater Joey Chestnut has devoured a record 191 chicken wings in 12 minutes.
Chestnut set the record Sunday during a wing-eating contest at the annual festival in Buffalo. He beat the old record of 183 wings, set last year by Sonya Thomas, the Black Widow.
Earlier this year, the San Jose, Calif., resident won his sixth straight Fourth of July hot dog-eating contest at Coney Island with 68 dogs in 10 minutes.
The weekend wing festival in Buffalo also included servings of 100 different styles of wings and live music

Ugh. This has got to be in the top five most disgusting occupations ever.
Love it... the article above this one is "New record for largest cheesburger".

America, land of the free, and the home of the fat - I mean brave!
Do they have such events in Ethiopia?
Celebrate gluttony. Gross is an understatement. Guess he can shove hot dogs just as well.

Do chickens fall over without wings to balance? I envision all these wingless birds rolling around.
Why...?
Disgusting!
I think I'd rather feed that to all the hungry people out there rather than waste it on this. How fat are we getting?
@Zoso This festival does raise funds for various charities including a food bank. I'm guessing this raises more money for these charities than they "waste" during these eating contests. http://www.buffalowing.com/c-24-charities.aspx
@Zoso I definitely agree with the part about feeding the hungry, but I have always wondered how these competitive eaters don't usually look real fat!
@DMT @Zoso I heard they fast before competing, and afterwards. But still, you would think you would get sick if you ate like that after fasting.
@DMT I'm guessing afterwards, they let it all out. It's only for the title. ;)
