Oops! Nokia apologizes for video gaffe

HELSINKI (AP) - A Nokia commercial showcasing the photo and video functions of its latest smartphone has turned into a blurry episode for the cellphone maker.
Part of the ad, which shows a woman on a bicycle, gives the viewer the impression of watching her through the lens of the new Lumia 920, which features image stabilizing functions.
But a reflection in a window shows she's in fact being filmed from a van by someone holding a video camera.
Nokia apologized on its official blog Thursday "for the confusion we created."
The ad was shown Wednesday in New York at Nokia's launch of the Lumia 920 and another smartphone that uses Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 software.

Every single company does this kind f stuff people. Trust me. My wife works in advertising and you wouldn't believe the out right lies that companies say to push their products. Nokia just got caught.
What I want to know is how many people watched and approved of this video before it aired? And how many of them are now looking for work?
Is it wrong that I was hoping for a wardrobe malfunction?
Nokia should bow out of the cell phone business. Yes, they were huge back in the day when cell phones first came out but they seem to faulter and fail when cell phones became smart.
HAHAHA...what's even more funny is that Nokia's stock took a dump after the release of this phone.Â
And we wonder why we spent so much money for something and it doesn't perform the way we expect it to, happens all too often.
@swimbad   Didn't there use to be "truth in advertizing" laws??  Certainly doesn't seem like it anymore.
@achoo2 They might as well cell this phone on infomercials, "As Seen On T.V." We are always being duped by ads, this is why we need to read reviews from other purchasers before we buy big ticket items. Always return stuff when you are not happy and stick the junk back on the manufacturer and sellers when possible.Â
