'This is nothing, the kids mean everything to me'
BELFAIR, Wash. -- A mom forced out of her home by flames Sunday woke up Tuesday in a Belfair motel, worried where her five children will sleep next, but relieved they're alive.
From the family cars to her kids' toys, fire destroyed everything Katrina Eash called home.
"This is nothing, the kids mean everything to me," Eash said.
Strangers driving by Sunday saw flames and heard screams and climbed through windows to rescue her daughters.
"The house was burning and I was crying," Eash said.
With no insurance and no home, the Red Cross is putting the Eash family up in Belfair's only motel.
"(One daughter) lost her blankie, toys, clothes and shoes -- she just lost everything."
Eash dresses her four daughters in donated clothing.
"I lost my Tinkerbell shoes," one said.
Thanks to generous viewers, the Problem Solvers was able to step in and help the Eash family replace some of the stuff they lost, like clothes, baby items, and car seats to replace the ones melted in the fire.
But the single mom doesn't know where they'll live or what's next.
Someone has offered to donate a trailer but can't afford to haul it. Meanwhile, Belfair Community Baptist Church is now collecting diapers, formula, clothing, and food for the family.
