Kris and Brandon Brauns.
BOTHELL, Wash. -- The Brauns family woke up Sunday morning to find glass all over the living room of their Bothell home.
They'd like to know who did it, but they're already dealing with enough as it is.
"He's been through a lot and that's why I'm so happy that I can just be home to just hang out with him and take care of him," Kris Brauns said of her son, Brandon.
The tumors in the 10-year-old boy's head are growing faster than doctors can treat them.
He needs his mom's help 24 hours a day. He doesn't need what happened on Sunday.
"We both came downstairs this morning and looked in the living room and thought 'that doesn't look right,' and walked in there and glass everywhere and two big holes in our front window," Kris said.
Vandals threw two rocks through their front window while they were sleeping.
"Who could have done this? Why did somebody do this?" Kris said.
Life is already tough enough for this single mother. That's why Kris' neighbor, Cathy Boorman, Called the KOMO Problem Solvers.
"It's a mom and a son and he's battling cancer and he's been ill for years, and he's tired and he's scared," Boorman said.
Brandon has endured 12 chemotherapy and radiation treatments over the years.
He knows he's sick, but doesn't know how sick. Kris took a leave of absence from her job to spend every moment with him.
It makes throwing rocks seem petty and insignificant.
"What a senseless, pointless thing to do," Kris said.
Kris left her job knowing money would be tight. If you'd like to help you can
