SEATTLE -- With the holiday shopping season as the malls get more crowded - parents will have a harder time keeping on eye on their kids.

There are two new devices that cab help you track your children if they wander away.

Cell phones can be used to track teens and adults, but what if your child isn't old enough to have one?

Kay Green is with MyPreciousKid.com, which markets the Mommy I'm Here Locator.

Pushing the wireless transmitter sounds an alarm on the bear your child wears. The device can be tied on to the child's shoe.

Once activated, the device puts out an 86-decibel sound, which can be heard from some 150 feet away.

But during a test at a shopping mall, we found walls and other obstructions can limit how far you can track your child.

There's another device, which is silent -- the Amber Alert GPS. A child or parent can activate it to locate a kid anywhere in the world.

"From a cell phone, you can call or text this device and it will send you back a message with either an address or a link to the map you would open with a Web-enabled phone," said Green.

The device updates the child's location within 20 feet of accuracy every few minutes.

The Mommy I'm Here Locator is $30. The Amber Alert GPS costs $380 plus an annual service plan.
