25 billion served up: iTunes reaches huge milestone

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The answer to the trivia question will be: "Monkey Drums (Goskel Vancin Remix) by Chase Buch." That's the 25 billionth song purchased on iTunes.
Apple announced the sales milestone in a news release Wednesday. The company says Phillip Lupke of Germany purchased and downloaded Buch's song and will receive an iTunes gift card worth 10,000 euros, or about $13, 500.
It took the Cupertino, Calif., company 12 years to reach the milestone. Customers download an average of 15,000 songs a minute on iTunes, which was launched in January 2001. The digital retailer's catalog is 26 million songs deep.

How to use $13,000 in iTunes...??
You'd be hard pressed to tell the difference, but Apple's AAC codec is generally considered better than MP3 at the same bit rates. YMMV.
I still prefer amazon's music site. The albums are a bit less expensive, they are mp3 so they play on more devices and the biggest plus, you dont need to use itunes. I also use bandcamp or cdbaby when I can, a much larger percentage of the money goes right to the artists.
