Germany: Microsoft wins patent case vs Motorola

BERLIN (AP) - Microsoft Corp. has won a patent case in Germany against Google's Motorola unit over technology for mobile devices.
A Munich state court ruled Thursday that Motorola Mobility infringed a Microsoft patent covering the way mobile devices handle input commands from users.
The ruling means Google will have to modify its Android operating system or pay Microsoft a license fee to use the technology in devices sold in Germany.
The Munich court said Google can appeal the ruling.
The same court ruled a week ago that Motorola infringed an Apple Corp. patent on mobile technology known as "bounce-back."

OOh. Backlash here at home with the instant tax hammer. Microsoft had to have seen it coming behind the Motorola Google ex-chief of DARPA connection. Seems like Mic had the choice to proceed on first strike, but that MG was gonna come out after em sooner or later anyway. Mic knows there's no way to hide info from them in the overall sense, so attack through their patent, trade off cash culpability for tax day reckoning. Don't trip America, no government collusion at all to see here, move along. But only because the first rot in line is the Gordion Knot of our Judiciary.
Aww. Lookie there. Rule of Law alive still in another country. Who knew? Been so long since we seen it here.
