Joe's Vault: The biggest story of 1962

The Seattle Monorail under construction.

A little over sixty years into the 20th Century, Seattle showcased a view towards the 21st Century.

Next week, on April 21st, is the anniversary of the opening of the Century 21 Exposition - the 1962 Seattle World's Fair. So I've reached into the Video Vault and pulled out the beginning of our 1962 year-end special, "Digest 1962".

The Fair was the biggest story of the year, of course, and was the focus of much of our special.

Today we present part one, the lead-up to the Fair. Next week we'll continue with the opening of the Exposition through the summer to its close in October.

Enjoy 1962!
