Ken's E-mails: I've got conservatives riled up

By Ken Schram

SEATTLE -- My comments about former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan's new book sure riled up a contingent of conservatives who still buy into the idea that President Bush is just being picked on. (Read commentary at this link.)

Dan Miller writes: "You know he's a liar trying to sell a book. He either lied while in the president's service or he's lying now."

Susan Hughes: "(Scott McClellan) is a real turncoat. All for the money."

Mitch from Aberdeen: "(McClellan) is someone who spent 6 years as not just an active participant in the White House inner circle, but was (also) its face to the media. (He now) wants to turn a quick buck with a sensational, if factually suspect, book."

Jeremy Tregoning: "When Scott McClellan defended the wars, Katrina and tax cuts, people like you didn't believe him. Now he writes a book with the opposite views (and) people like you think he's telling nothing more than the (whole) damn truth."

Brad Mosier: "(Scott McClellan is a chump). In it for the money and you lame liberals are just the fools to go out and buy his book."

And finally, from Larry A. Silves: "I would have thought you were more intelligent than to gloat over a book outing (the Bush) administration."

Well Larry, I'm smart enough to gloat when the gloating gets good.

Thanks for writing everyone.

Have a great weekend.

And be sure to join Ken, along with John Carlson, on "The Commentators", which airs every weekday from 3-6 p.m. on AM 570 KVI.

It's a lively exchange of information, insight and perspective with two guys who don't agree on much, but still manage to enjoy each other as they tackle issues of the day. Even better, callers are invited in on the verbal action.
