Ken's E-mails: Pull over those left-lane lollygaggers

SEATTLE -- I tore into the state patrol for announcing it's going to start giving more tickets to people who use the far left lane for driving instead of passing. (Read earlier commentary here.)

In response, most of the e-mails I got tore into me.

Kathy Swoyer writes: "...Most often the state patrol will nab those self-righteous, holier-than-thou drivers who believe they're morally entitled to poke along in the fast lane because it delivers divine enlightenment to would-be speeders."

Wanda Peretti: "We have all seen traffic ahead of us with all lanes clear of traffic except for the one bozo in the left lane impeding traffic."

Richard Hoefer: "I am behind the WSP all the way on ticketing people driving continuously in the left lane."

Josiah Farrell: "It is ludicrous how many people will clog up the freeway by sitting in the left lane."

Mike Carpenter: "I really believe that people cruising and driving slow in the left lane is one of the causes (for) such horrible traffic..."

And finally, from Angie B.: "Read and know the laws you moron. I for one am happy they're finally teaching the idiots (out there) the laws of the road."

Well Angie, I'm just happy that you're happy.

Thanks for writing everyone.

Have a great weekend.

And be sure to join Ken, along with John Carlson, on "The Commentators", which airs every weekday from 3-6 p.m. on AM 570 KVI.

It's a lively exchange of information, insight and perspective with two guys who don't agree on much, but still manage to enjoy each other as they tackle issues of the day. Even better, callers are invited in on the verbal action.
