The Schrammie: Gaga over green goofiness

Summary

Mayor Greg Nickels has already got a nice little collection of "Schrammies." But hey, as long as he keeps coming up with goofy ideas, I'm happy to keep sending him more. This one's for his idea of closing streets to cars later this summer.

The Schrammie: Gaga over green goofiness
He's already got a nice little collection of these things ("Schrammies").

But hey, as long as he keeps coming up with goofy ideas, I'm happy to keep sending him more.

So if Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels would have his chauffeur drop him off, I'd like him to come on down.

Hizzoner is all a-twitter over the idea of temporarily closing off sections of the city to motor vehicles as he experiments with "car-free days" later this summer.

Which streets will be closed on which days is still being pondered, but Hizzoner is hoping for lots of streets on lots of days.

Mayor 5-pennies has become a real environmental hot dog of late and it seems his need to control citizen behavior extends to keeping people from coming and going how they please.

So if you prefer dancing in the streets to grocery shopping, visiting grandma or having friends over for brunch, you are going to love living in the vision of Seattle that is Greg Nickels.

Be sure to honk if you drive by Seattle City Hall today.

And if you're so inclined, congratulate the greener-than-green Greg for having to take yet another bow, because Mr. Mayor, this "Schrammie" is for you.

(P.S. If you plan on returning this "Schrammie" like you returned the last one, please let me know and I'll save the postage.)
