I said the media should go after Sarah Palin based on the political issues swirling around her. (Read earlier commentary
at this link.)
I said the media should stay away from using her family and her gender as a gauge of whether she can be Vice President.
A lot of viewers said I was missing the point.
Cheryl and Pat Stone wrote: "Folks like Gov. Palin advocate abstinence-only programs for everybody's kids - not just their own ... (and people) wonder about a woman who can suffer the tragedy of giving birth to a disabled child and then ... accept the offer of Vice Presidency of the United States. ... Stop letting ... Palin off the hook."
Roedy Green: "How can someone look after a young family of 5 and run a country. .. Just caring for a single Down syndrome child is a full-time job. If she handles it by ignoring her family, that goes to character."
Janet Seaberg: "Sorry Ken, I think you're totally wrong for blaming the media (for how Palin has been treated). ... If my ... daughter had become pregnant ... I certainly wouldn't be parading her around the United States with an 'I dare you to look at us' attitude."
And finally, from Mary Sykes: "That hairdo of (Palin's) is about 25 years out of date."
Not to worry, Mary.
So is your attitude.
Thanks for writing everyone.
Have a great weekend.
