Ken Schram: Petty politics for dummies
By Ken Schram
It's petty politics for dummies.
I think that just about sums up the state Democratic party's contrived outrage over Dino Rossi listing his party preference as "GOP" on the ballot. Rossi is having his second go at trying to be elected governor. Unless you've been living in a cave somewhere, you know that he's running against Christine Gregoire. Rossi's the Republican. Gregoire's the incumbent Democrat. Earlier this week, the state democrats filed a lawsuit saying that Rossi should be listed on the November ballot as a republican instead of the "prefers GOP party" liner that Rossi is using. In response to the request that printing the ballots be put on hold because of this, Secretary of State Sam Reed politely told the Democrats to put a sock in it. Having hired a "Saturday Night Live" writer to craft the lawsuit complaint, it reads, in part: "...Allowing Mr. Rossi to obscure his true party preference...would mislead a substantial portion of the voting public..." I'll be blunt: If you are that much of an imbecile; if you are so damn stupid that you don't know "GOP" means republican, then you are too feeble-minded to even consider voting. --- Have something to say to Ken?
