Lots of reaction to my commentary on the situation in Iraq.
(See the original story here.)I said I was tired of hearing the Republican mantra about how the surge in Iraq has been a success.
I’m more interested in hearing how we're supposed to actually win that war and get out of Iraq.
Reinaldo Correa writes: "Who says the surge worked? The free people of Iraq do."
Rodney Brett: "The surge did work. You seem to say that the surge should by now result in electricity, water, etc. This is a huge task that we are doing over there. Much bigger than your side of aisle can ever imagine."
Karen Fantz: "How do you know for sure that the surge hasn't worked? You (should) go over there and then come back and complain."
Shirley Stephenson: "Asking someone to put a 'term limit' on a war is like telling nature when (it should) rain in Seattle."
Jan Northey: "You are a liberal idiot."
Douglas Krantz: "I’m tired of people thinking they know more than our military commanders on the ground. I’m tired of the message from Democrats that leaving Iraq helpless and hopeless is a good idea."
And finally, Colin Sweeney: "With the possible exception of your immediate family, nobody cares what you think."
Well Colin, there are times when even they don't care what I think.
Thanks for writing everyone.
I hope you have a good weekend.
