Give and you shall receive.

Such is the case with my giving the "Schrammie" to the guy who wants to take away the recently passed "everything but marriage bill" for gay and lesbian couples. See original commentary here »

In return, I received criticism from folks who disagreed with me.

Nancy Reece writes: "Marriage has always been one man and one woman. Marriage is as old as the Bible and (people) did not have sex until they were married."

Evan Homer: "Your commentary ... was both ignorant and short sighted. You, like most of the gay lobby ... forget that marriage was established ... by God for men and women to unite."

Wayne Knapp: "You know what the Bible says about homosexual behavior. ... God loves everyone, but not everyone can get married."

Fred Schultz: "I do believe (that gays and lesbians) should have the same benefits as married couples, but without being married. If gay marriage is allowed (you) might as well throw out the Bibles and close down the churches."

And finally, from Scott Shaw: "I wonder if you'd be as vitriolic ... toward someone from any other faith. ... It seems heterosexual Christians are the only acceptable targets left in the new culture."

Oh I don't know, Scott. I think there are a lot of Christians who have a lot of their own targets.

Thanks for writing, everyone.

Have a great weekend.
