Schram: Tackling a trio of madcap missteps

Oh yeah!

Too many issues, too little time.

My remedy: Some quick takes on a trio of topics that cry out for attention.

Let's kick it off with King County officials looking to ease a $93 million budget hole by sticking it to soup kitchens, schools and other agencies that help feed the poor and homeless.

The county is looking at increasing the cost of permit fees for all the above.

In some instances, the fees could double.

I suppose we should start looking for the county to impose a doily tax on little old ladies.

Next ...

A Shoreline City Council member who wants to be re-elected has filed a lawsuit against King County Elections for not putting her name on the ballot.

Seems Janet Way failed to pay her filing fee on time.

Election officials say missing the deadline constitutes a failure to file.

So Janet decided to sue.

Just what we need: Another politician who thinks rules and laws don't apply to them.

And finally: A Kentucky minister is urging his congregation to bring their guns to church as a way to celebrate the Fourth of July and the Second Amendment.

I'm thinking that instead of communion that day, maybe everyone can just shoot tin cans off the pulpit.

Have a great weekend, everyone.
