SEATTLE -- Longing for more peace and quiet, they've filed a lawsuit.

But if they wanted tranquility, pray tell: Why buy a house where little was to be had?

And so it is that I’d like to invite those who are complaining about noise from the new Sea-Tac runway to put their barcalounger in the upright position and come on down.

For more than 60 years, planes have been taking off and landing at Sea-Tac.

So I figure if anyone bought a house in that area over the past six decades, they have no room to throw a temper tantrum over jet engines rattling the fine china or drowning out Alex Trebek asking the final Jeopardy question.

But that hasn’t deterred a handful of residents near the airport from going to court.

They contend that use of the new third runway (while the old runway is being repaired) is diminishing the value of their homes, along with dozens of other homes in the area.

They want the Port of Seattle to pay, which actually means they want taxpayers to cough up money for the mistake they made in buying a house near the airport.

All things considered, I don't think they deserve a dime.

What they do deserve is this “Schrammie” along with the following advice: Stick a Q-Tip in your ear.
